Thanks man, I shined her up yesterday and there’s just something about a truck in the field that just seems right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Yeah last year was my first year hunting it so it’s more about looking for other spots besides the 2 I had. Now the fun part with putting in 3 or so more stands haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Spent a few hours scouting the new property and then proceeded to delete my OnX track... ugh. I still marked some spots and I have that mental plan forming, but man does OnX help you scout more efficiently. Brought the .22 but didn’t see any bushy tails. I’m thinking the sunny day yesterday woulda been better but oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I think you should consider your $1k in annual maintenance and then include the fact that at 100k everything really starts to go. This and your car is 13 years old now. A no frills suv in 4x4, or a crossover or even a small truck can be had for a monthly payment of 300-400 (even cheaper with a lease, but understand that doesn't work for you). Now I understand that will be a new payment, but if you look at it like $4000 a year - $1000 you're spending now it's a little easier to swallow. There is some value in your trailblazer to help ease the pain, but you're also getting a newer, more reliable, safer and better equipped vehicle for the extra money. As someone who has nursed along older trucks longer than I should, I wish I'd have jumped ship before the major "too expensive to fix it" stuff happened and I think you have that chance now.
-
the fact that some of you are going down with this ship is impressive. The idea behind his election in 2016 is real and shouldn't be buried. How he conducted himself over the last 4 years should never be repeated. Tie yourself to his original goals and message, but for the love of God, separate yourself from that man and what he became.

still hard as balls to kill though

and also ridiculous to kill even with houndsmen.

i've heard the same about beaver as well.

US Capital Lock Down
Five Seasons replied to cachemoney's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
in a strange way, what happened yesterday may be a blessing that helps the now somewhat powerless republicans wake up to what the majority of voters want. And that is for our government to do more for the people and less for themselves. We may always disagree on how to go about that, but shit if we all couldn't use a little more boring political leaders again. Boring right now will be good. without yesterday we may have seen the remaining republicans continue to act like sore losers and follow in the same footsteps that the democrats did after they lost and instead of accepting defeat and working together, they went on year long missions to overturn the election. That didn't help anyone then and it wont help anyone now. -
US Capital Lock Down

Can't sugar coat this one. Can't explain it away. Can't rail against what happened with BLM and supporting police and denouncing violence and destruction and support this. Can't, won't. The main argument I've had with my liberal friends is that BLM would have all been shot and killed. Ummm they took over whole city blocks and weren't shot and killed by police, whereas they did shoot a white woman yesterday. Typical double standard race baiting divide from the other side too. -
do you layer up and layer down as you're going or do you never really stay still long enough to get cold or for the sweat to chill you? Most of May is pretty warm in the southern tier but we have our cold ass mornings where it heats up quick by 9 and I always end up sweating my ass off. I'm not worried about the stink of course, more of a comfort thing. I imagine up north it's much cooler.

ahh i gotcha. yeah my silverado has auto 4x4. I turn that on what it's snowy/cruddy and to your point it only kicks on when needed and you're not burning 4x4 gas to run it. I did read that you shouldn't leave it on as it still knocks fuel efficiency down a little. My wife's expedition doesn't have auto, so interesting that your explorer did. I was mostly referring to the 2nd knob in the expedition that cycles between normal, eco, sport, tow, snow, sand etc. btw, no shifter takes some getting used to. Going from park to drive and drive to reverse with a rotary dial on the center console is totally new to us.

things I like about my 19 silverado and 20 expedition that will not wear off heated steering wheel. single favorite by far, no questions. blind spot monitoring, i don't have to do anything for this one, but I really like it backup cams of course, but they've been around a while expedition has lane assist which vibrates the wheel if you're veering out of lane. again nothing I need to activate, but cool remote tailgate release and push button on the tailgate of the silverado carplay. enough said. another thing that wore off real quick on the expedition is that leg kick thing to open the tailgate. It kinda works, but mostly doesn't and while I have needed it a few times over the years it's just sorta there and blah for me.

I appreciate the offer. If I get a nice fox or yote I'm going to mount it. But going forward if I get hooked, that's the question. Totally get it. It's the hold up for me that prevents me from going all in on predator hunting or trying trapping.
-
I was just wanting to be able to do a yote or fox so I felt like I didn't just "kill for nothing" ya know? Thought a cool hangers would be nice.
-
I guess that's my point though, if you need 4x4 just go 4x4 and why bother with those terrain modes in 2wd?

There's a guy on youtube with some very lengthy videos i watched and decided the heck with this, man is it a lot of work and seems like quite a mess.

Vaccination

I did, and I couldn't find anything from a .org or .gov that discussed that. The best I can tell is that they excluded those in the trail, which is normal practice per the source below, which references the clinical trial doctor's comments and the drug manufacturers statements. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/coronavirus-vaccine-and-fertility-what-we-know-so-far/2394119/ -
haha nothing haunts me man. I am what I am. Love it or hate it. Never felt there was anything mysterious about me or hidden in my comments and posts. I'm not even sure what your past is or do I care. It's a hunting forum for learning, sharing, collaborating, helping and also bs'ing to have a little fun. To take any of this or any member too serious is silly. Heck even the arguments I've had with members have never been personal for me. Only 2 members have every actually bothered me and 1 is gone because he was a racist bigot and the other said some personal stuff about my family. Those are really the only lines that bother me, everything else is fair game. anyhow, back on topic and discussing spending our stimulus on box calls.

I complemented the posters and you on a good subject and added a funny story. sorry about that I guess. please don't insult my hometown.

novelty wore off pretty quick for me when I watched the instant mpg tracker haha. Same thing for the "terrain select" in the wife's truck. Yeah maybe if she remembers she will put it in ice/snow if 4x4 isn't needed, but I won't be driving through sand or ruts or gravel to the point of 2wd isn't working and 4x4 is too much. silly gimmick in my opinion.

Vaccination

I still want to see where he pulled that from. Not saying it isn't real. But it's also the first I've seen about pregnancy and sperm etc etc. All I've seen so far is a normal occurrence of bells palsy, which is temporary and easily curable for the 3 trail patients who developed it. -
the placebo effect is very real, don't disagree. The positive thing that ganja has going for it though vs a pill is that it's organic and god put it here. No lab made it up. It has many benefits without a whole lot of detractors if not abused. I think just about any doctor would rather someone take a bong rip vs popping oxy for their pain. It's not a miracle drug no, but the fact that we have outlawed a plant that really can't kill you while allowing booze to be acceptable still really makes no sense if you look at the death toll and damage alcohol has.
-
The free market doesn't work too bad no. But many of the distribution comes from those also distributing other drugs, and while a minor slice of their pie, it's still something. There's crime associated with it, although not much but mostly you don't truly know what you're getting. The interesting thing about today's weed vs that of the 70's is how potent and custom the strains are. Some can make you happy and want to dance, which a lot of people like but may cause paranoia and freak others out who struggle with anxiety. More common for pain and stress relief are strains that mellow you out and cause you to relax, sink into the couch and watch cartoons for a while and forget your back pain. You wake up in the morning with no hangover and many doctors I've spoken with would rather people choose that vice over liquor. Of course everything requires moderation. Buying "the strain you want" is much harder with today's market haha. Anyhow, the real benefit as you and I know will be tax revenue and jobs. Maybe our blue state gives all that tax money away to fund free college for illegal immigrants. But maybe, just maybe they halt tax hikes or god forbid roll some back. That's the win even if you never take a puff of the stuff.

really?
