LIVE From The Woods 2020 - Let's hear stories and see some pictures!
Five Seasons replied to Marion's topic in Deer Hunting
there were at least 3 wall mounters on this property and I have picks of all 3 post season. There are a bunch of other nice shooters that made it. I've learned that if they're not taken during bow, forget about ever seeing them during gun other than maybe 2 or 3 rare sightings. -

Some scouting yesterday and cut an approach trail and cleared some runs to a new set today with my “helpers”. The best tree isn’t straight and at a bit of an angle so it might be a little tricky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 8220 replies

Vaccination
Five Seasons replied to johnplav's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Those are very different things. One is a political agenda and the other is a world health crisis. WORLD. Not just the US. I do not, and thought I did a good job explaining that a worldwide vaccine that was putting people in ICUs would be impossible to coverup. That was it and nothing more. I just can't see how this could be hidden on a global scale with the millions of doses already given. -

Vaccination

you're misunderstanding my point. I don't disagree that there is bias. We all can agree on that. But to think there are people nearly dying and somehow ACROSS THE GLOBE it's being covered up? Come on, that's like the whole moon landing was faked argument. Most people can't keep a secret and to think dozens and dozens of people kept one regarding a faked moon landing? Now think about how every country in the world and every media outlet in the age of the internet could be covering this up? -
I'm so sorry Moog, may she now rest in peace with God.

I'd like to think that any reputable news agency would investigate. I know that's not a given for bloggers, but I hope most of us don't believe what we read in blogs and would take our stories from more reputable sources. I know MSM has a bad rap right now, and rightfully so, but there are still some good unbiased outlets out there like the AP and rueters who try and stay out of politics. -
probably more for turkey. Yeah we have yotes and yeah they take down some fawns. I do think the numbers are smaller than some want to think they are. i have zero evidence or studies to support this haha

call the news agencies. There are some that are drooling for a story like this. another point, we have a few employees who were hurt at work recently and then contracted covid at the hospital. Even the family members aren't able to get info on their status, so I'm not sure you're getting the whole story over why they're in ICU either. The one guy has a severe brain bleed and the family literally cannot visit and isn't receiving status updates on his condition. This is a separate issue, but there might be more to the story for these individuals too. -

wny, you've never been one to bs or dip into the conspiracy side of things, but what you're mentioning would be national news... I know dozens personally who've received it and have read all the major reports and all I've seen are treatable allergic reactions or temporary bells palsy. You're indicating you know 3 people who are in ICU as a result of the VACCINE? I'm sorry man, I just don't accept it. -
I should clarify, when I meant ROI for me with regards to satisfaction. Like with deer, I spend way more than I receive in meat. But the satisfaction, excitement, meat etc. gets me out there. I just can't seem to find that drive for trapping, but I also have 3 kids under 8 so time is precious. maybe someday.

makes sense. Even the fleshing board process looks like a mess and hassle. I'm not trying to be such a negative Nancy here, I plan to do some predator hunting and would like to trap too, I just can't seem to convince myself the ROI is there.

i wouldn't mind skinning and dropping off somewhere. I sure as shit don't want to tan though.

Things I've Come to Believe !
Five Seasons replied to Salmon_Run's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
it always gets worse before it gets better. I try to look at all the bad that's happening now and think, what good might come? And the answer I think is that if American's can agree on one thing, it's that everyone is fed up with the life long polititicans. There should be a real movement to get fresher blood and more turnover and the only way to get this done is going to be some pain for our country as we fracture, fight and argue. Schumer, Polosi, Cruz, Romney, Gramn, etc etc. We're done with them and at leat Cruz is trying, but will fail to do something about it. -

Not too far from you, although blaming the prior admin for the negatives is a tale as old as time for both parties. The narrative of course this time is that "covid ruined everything for Joe", which of course isn't a narrative that trump could use for some reason. I will add this. We should all be rooting for the next admin to succeed, even if it doesn't align with your views. Rooting for them to fail, is rooting for America to fail. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face. -
right? what the heck kind of video doesn't demonstrate the call???

yikes, and after considering the amount of work to skin and tan...

seriously. Fear mongering at it's best and they keep wondering why the nazi analogies continue to be used. I have great concern for the censorship by big tech, don't get me wrong. Many of the anti-2nd amendment crowd loves to say "well they were talking about muskets, not machine guns". I'd argue that they had no idea how social media would become our media and while censorship is not a violation of the 1st amendment, it's scary to see how it might as well be when only 3 or 4 companies control the whole thing and have an agenda. PS if we want to do anything about what Larry is spouting off about it's good that we got rid of papsmear. There's another member or 2 who could go as well as far as i'm concerned. I have no issue with factual political debate and discussion, but when you're so far down the rabbit hole you're having a conversation with Alice... -
I pulled cams yesterday and have a couple trophies that survived and a few others that will be trophies/shooters next year. But man does it feel "dead" this time of year. Hiking through the woods its just so baren.

had this discussion with a liberal friend of mine over the weekend. I mentioned how it should be concerning that 1st and 2nd amendment rights are facing some challenges of late. His comment was that nothing has been taken from anyone yet. And while I told him that yes he's correct (although an argument at the state level could be had), the writing is on the wall. I also reminded him about the outrage he had when they talked about building a wall (but before one had been built yet). Where I'm from you don't wait for shit to happen to react.

Oh I didn't realize you still had payments, and yeah that factors in. I know buying new seems a lot more expensive but sometimes it's not. Consider that there are a lot of 0% for 60 and even 72 month financing available, whereas a loan on a used car carries pretty hefty apr with it. It never hurts to kick the tires and see what's out there before going used. Even certified used can have some good deals and a little extra peace of mind.
