haha yeah i realize that. was rushing and can't back out now. No excuse there. it's up to 3.4%, but the argument still holds water. <100 deaths with the flu, and 3.4k with corona -
still have my dads. not any accuracy worth a shit though haha

i've seen this all over social media. While it's not incorrect, those numbers are total numbers and are not normalized based on rate of infection and mortality rate. The mortality rate for corona is >2%, the normal flu is <1%. For those that struggled in math, for every 100k people that get the flu <1k people die. For every 100k that get corona ~20k will die. And yes many of those that die are sick and elderly, but I know a few elderly people I love very much and I know a few that have chronic health issues (including a few on this forum). So just take that into consideration when downplaying the virus and what it's potential could be if it spreads like the flu (or worse). -

i've been on planes 2 weeks in a row now. it hasn't been a big deal. I do my normal hand washing like i always do, because people are gross. That said, I'm more worried about "decisions" that are made for me. -

we leave for HI in 11 days and I'm going to be one pissed off SOB if it gets cancelled. -
that's sort of what I was thinking. After reviewing the opportunity further it's a pass for me. thanks all
-
yeah this is def mountain country i was kind of shocked to see the cost of housing there. What's the draw? It's like the middle of nowehere with harsher winters. thanks will do!

I have a potential job opportunity that I don't think I will pursue, but it's up in NH near the VT border. How is the hunting there? My assumption is similar to big woods Adirondacks, but curious if anyone hunts up there and how it compares to AG land NY. Mostly a whitetail questions, but bear, turkey and small game too.

Lets be honest. those world leader alias mock and despise him. It's like having someone on the same sports team as you who spits in your face and hits on your gf. Yeah you're on the same side, but who wants to spend time working with someone like that? Meanwhile you have a buddy who likes to hunt and fish with you but plays on the other team. Maybe sometimes this buddy gets you into trouble, but you both think the same regardless of some differences in opinions.

i love watching these debates. pure entertainment. I think Pete put it best. The 2 leading candidates aren't even democrats. One was a republican and the other is a commy. lmao.

I wonder what changed with the DEC. I get a weekly newsletter from them for both work and hunting news and it's just this year that i've started to see the news and storm stuff.
-
that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Freaking natures rocks are not ok, but should one put up a fence manmade fence that's ok. this freaking world...
-
interesting. It's like if there weren't legal reasons for it, we'd all just hunt with sawed off rifles... although i do like some weight and balance. I think some rifles are too light to balance well. Wonder how this applies to shotgun ballistics too.
-
well that doesn't make sense or rifles wouldn't have longer barrels... I'm not expert but that just goes against everything i've ever known haha
-
that would be my question. At the ranges you intend to shoot, assuming under 500. If weight isn't a factor, does the length really matter? Is accuracy greatly improved or no? And if it isn't, it seems the agility of the shorter barrel not getting hung up on stuff while hiking and hunting would be the true advantage.

it's all good. Just wanted you to know that I had done an honest search to prevent a repost.

can't believe you got me to click on a link to the guardian haha. I read a little bit, but it's not a new idea or concept. I do applaud him for executing the idea though. In skimming the last few paragraphs though I didn't see him bring up anything about the fact that he could or did eat the animal he killed. I understand the scope of the article is about population reduction but it seems like a glaring omission. -
i searched the bear thread and out of state hunting front pages and then did a word title search for bear record in all sections. Not sure "believe it or not" is a great title my friend.
