  1. this has me rolling. what if my kid, who i'm not watching runs onto your land and gets hit by a big tractor? and who the flock doesn't love the sound of peepers at night?
  2. he can call the cops all he wants. Apparently his realtor didn't explain to him what "zoned for agriculture" meant. Heck that farmer could run tractors, dirt bikes and chainsaws 24/7 legally. With the country you get peace and quiet, and you also don't. apparently he also doesn't understand where his food comes from. Sounds like a super lib who wants to save the whole world as long as it doesn't affect their little bubble.
  3. saw a big doe the other day, and as my freezer is running super low, all I could envision was a bunch of nice vac sealed packs of meat just rotting there.
  4. I have no idea how much work, time and money this costs. Seems like probably a lot for the cost of a gun, but man the justice would be sweet. I hate the crony bullsh!t
  5. can a mod put this in wolc's sig and lock it? just playin man. love it though!
  6. their marketing machine is what it is. But for many years, the solocam was the shit for a very legit reason. Just not anymore. Like Kodak, it's hard to back away and switch gears from the thing that made you famous.
  7. that saying always bugs me, and no i'm not a bean counter. Bean counters get their direction from the boss. If they didn't want to cut corners and costs and risk quality, the boss wouldn't have made that a priority. Furthermore the boss gets his orders from the board. leftfield has it right. Blame the shareholders pushing for the impossible so they can add another few cars to their already crowded garages.
  8. great point. mathews marketing really pushed that solocam tech back in the day and for good reason. Stings weren't what they are now, and tuning the dual cams was a lot trickier and the extra fps was generally not worth it. But times have changed, strings are better which requires less tweaking and tuning and everybody is running dual cams. I don't think we will see giant leaps in archery tech, but things will continue to get lighter, more durable and more forgiving.
  9. should probably be noted that it's not always so much your cams, but you going to and from them. Sure there's some great tech out there to help reduce your orders, but none of us are ever scent free. We leave a faint trace no matter what. Deer also seem to have a super keen sense just notice that the grass is matted, or that there's a boot print in the mud. If you haven't seen them at least "notice" these things, you haven't bow hunted long enough.
  10. yes, but different varieties. they also just dont look that healthy, idk...
  11. i got nothing from my blueberry bushes. Might be in a bad spot, but had a bunch last year. Anybody get any blueberries?
  12. Sorry man. The Mathews hate can be strong, so I wasn’t sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The draw is not as smooth as the Mathews or Hoyt, but not to the point where I’d call it a negative, just not as smooth. And def not where I’d see it do any shoulder issues Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I have a small erection right now... #goals Hahah Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I get the truck on wednesday and the bow mid to late july. pics will come then. Again this was a lot harder decision than I imagined it would be, and I think you really can't go wrong with any major new bow and I wouldn't sling hate in any of their directions after shooting 3 of the big players. I think i would just ask the same of any new bow buyer. You may not purchase the mathews, but you can't not be impressed with how it feels.
  16. there's some interesting things going on with Elite right now that you might want to look into. But with regards to the mathews, there are lots of reviews saying the same thing. And I was very close to buying a PSE, so I'm not sure why the hate, you might want to reread my post. it is def the heaviest of the bows, but I dont spot and stalk or hike lots of miles, so weight doesn't factor much into it. they stopped making lost camo i learned. it's all realtree or sitka now. it is pretty neat. they have some big huge festival in august i might check out. all the big vendors and supporting organizationss.
  17. my weekend was like this. busy, sweat and hard work but a lot of projects crossed off and the beers taste that much better. nice work man.
  18. Old man and I drove to bullzeye Friday. What a day... spent the morning at bob johnson getting a new truck and then drove to archery shop and spent more money We got there around 2pm intentionally hoping they weren't busy and they weren't. First off, Rich was an outstanding guy. Very knowledgeable and not pushy or rude. But he's a straight shooter, so if you want warm and fuzzy, he's not your guy. Willing to talk us through certain features and functions of the bows. I went in looking for a mathews but wanted to shoot other bows and I did. The $2k carbon fiber hoyt is just amazing, but weight isn't a big factor for me. I also spent a good hour deciding if I should pull the trigger on a PSE evoke. This bow is incredible. It's cheaper than the mathews and letoff is incredible. You simply cannot inch it forward. This is an absolutely incredible feature for hunting. You can hold your draw longer and not worry about the creep and an accidental letdown or fire. I would think any hunter shooting any size of this make and model made a great choice. All that said, I am 6'1 with a 30" draw and the traverse just spoke to me. It can't be understated that this bow just feels amazing. There is no noise, no vibration and the draw, letoff and break are all much improved over my 15 year old switchback. We were so impressed that my old man is also upgrading to one from his ez7. He only had some camo and black models with green strings which i wasn't feeling so i custom ordered an all camo and black strings. The fancy strings don't do much for me. I will say this too. Rich is a pretty opinionated dude. Big preference for american made brands, so don't ask why he doesn't carry carbon express arrows lol. But ultimately I was really happy with his inventory and customer service. I even asked him a few times for his preference and he wouldn't give it. He wanted me to decide what I wanted and wouldn't steer me, which I think is great. You don't feel like you're being pushed.
  19. there is a second side to that amendment that we should all be weary of though. While I mostly agree that the politicians have no understanding or idea of many of our issues, and that the DEC is largely made up of well educated and well meaning individuals, just giving them power to do whatever removes our ability to advocate for change. We would have no vote. If the DEC wanted to eliminate the bear season or fall turkey or just create a single deer season with all weapons we couldn't stop them. Whereas now we can at least try and lobby and vote in politicians. Or annoy them to the point where they stop the DEC. I'm not sure if I'm right about how all this stuff works, but I do believe I'm generally correct with the idea of what I'm trying to get at. lol.
  20. Yeah at some point members of special interest groups have to decide if it’s ever going to work and if they’re happy with leadership, and so it doesn’t sound like I’m being critical of this guy, it’s a big reason I left NYB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That would explain those prices. I was very confused. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. there's a trick on the silverado too. Use the safety strap or whatever they're called and instead of lowering your tailgate the full way, hang the strap tie on the beds tailgate latch. It provides a perfect view of the hitch and was supposedly designed for this (says the salesman at bob johnson anyhow)
