    same thing happened to me on a bird i passed at 35. Wouldn't have had a clue he was moving in silent if it wasn't for a loud crow buzz overhead. Pretty cool thing to experience.

    Taking a vacation day tomorrow to give it one last crack. Any legal bird is game on and I'm making sure to get in on time. No excuses, as it's the last real good hunting until October in my opinion.

    have only been in the woods 4 times and 2 of those were post sunset. The 2 days I did get in on time I had good responses and went 1 for 2, and probably should have taken a shot at #2.

    well i half assed looking for morels on the hike back this weekend. I found shrooms, but none that i think anyone would eat, although one appeared to have guacamole already applied lol

    this bums me out, because i've been leaving rosebud turning left on five mile in the morning and seen that beauty headed to 104 on a handful of occasions. Saw a big bald dude up front and knew it was the m00g.

    so last sunday I was able to get a hen into the middle of a field, annoyed at me acting like a hen. She yelped and clucked a little... but what was disconcerting to me, is that even a real hen couldn't get a gobble. what do you all think about this?

    yep I pretty much need a nap. And I don't really feel guilty about it as I've been up since 4, and what I chose to do that day was to hunt turkey, so I'm really just swapping my sleeping time with activity time. Problem I have is when the sun is shining and I know I have so much stuff to do that my mind wont let me rest.

    smells wont affect your turkey hunt, but yeah a thermacell is a great investment.
