  1. To address your first point, I don't understand how this could be viewed as a redistribution of wealth, many oil companies supported it. Many know we cannot rely on fossil fuels forever, they're finite. The same ENERGY companies were prepared for this and they would and will profit just the same. Yes some coal miners will be out of a job. It happens. Technology has advanced a lot since you were in elementary school, I could go on and on about some of the tech my own company produces, but point is. We are more self aware than we have ever been. Don't forget it wasn't really that long ago that there were God's in Greece who made things happen... not science. And to address people being upset. I voted for Trump. I feel I voted for the lesser of 2 evils, but I did it because I feel he was best fit for the job. Really my main point in all this isn't to debate the Paris Climate Agreement, but to hopefully help some of you understand that just because you vote a particular party or stand on a certain side of the aisle doesn't mean you have to believe in all of it. Heck, even papsmear is getting upset that the wall isn't built yet. Arnold, Megan Kelly, the Bush's, Romney and McCain are all examples of conservatives who aren't exactly in love with this guy and you know what? that's a good thing. I wish the left would do a little more of that and maybe someday we will get some candidates who don't feel they have to thump bibles, discriminate against gays and renounce evolution to get the middle part of the country to vote for them. There is this the feeling I get with trump where I'm uncertain if it's an act or real. I know he's smart. but some of the things he says and does? I just don't get it... and I'd be lying and so would you all if you didn't agree it made you a little nervous.
  2. meaning, some (especially papsmear) could benefit from at least reading some viewpoints by other media outlets. Heck, 90% of his stuff is so extreme right it's buried on the internet. You don't have to believe the otherside's view. But it will help enlighten you. So of course conservative outlets will applaud this. Viewers of any media like to feel that they're right. It gets ratings. The real challenge is to try and see it through someone else's lens. No disagreement there. There are some dumb ones. I could present a list to you, and in fact I helped author some ideas that were presented as a white paper to Trump earlier this year on regulations that do nothing but hurt our economy. How many of you can say that? You say America's playing the fool, I would argue that we're leading the way. We're not being petty over what amounts to chump change for our economy and doing the right thing even if it isn't completely equitable. Renegotiating NATO and trade are great opportunities to affect real change that will pay immediate dividends and that's where politics belongs. This is where some of you need to educate yourselves on what this is. We are not the only funder of this agreement. And we are the #2 polluter. Don't you think we do owe the world some help? I agree with your last sentence. Note again, that many other countries are doing their part. If we wait for everything in politics to be completely fair and equitable and so perfect that not one single soul is upset, we will continue to get nowhere. Just like congress today. BTW, in 2020 there's a good chance Trump is out anyhow and we're back in the agreement. So again, I don't understand this move.
  3. Lol my job is fine. Carbon reduction is a small, small part of my responsibility. And like I said, we do it anyhow. I simply brought it up as an offering of my understanding of the situation. That it's part of my education and my life, unlike the talking heads you bow to.
  4. They are in different stages in their economic growth. They're not out of it forever. Think again as the US as the leader. Hey we've been there... polluted our rivers and lakes. We can't force you do anything because your people are starving, but let us help. Btw, we don't have a separate eco system at manmade boundaries. Momma always told you to take of yourself and do your best right?
  5. This is not a left and right issue. those so far stuck to your parties beliefs on one side or the other would do yourself a service by researching this a little more... and not through your typical outlets. It's very simple. All but 2 countries and now 3 made a handshake deal to better the environment. You may not believe in global warming even though 97% of scientist do. I have a degree in environmental engineering and make my living in the regulations field. I can promise you that the data is real. I can promise you that cutting emissions isn't as hard as you think. I literally have spent 11 years of my life putting simple programs in place to reduce our footprint. And you know what happens when you reduce your emissions? You save money on utilities! Climate change will not affect you or your kids... but it will eventually impact this planet. I for one don't want to have our ancestors look back at me and ask WTF? Yes people will lose jobs. Railroad workers lost jobs too. So did steam engine builders. We move on and new jobs in new fields are created. So I ask you this. If this was a non-binding agreement of sorts that even countries like North Korea and Iran signed on to, what's the big deal? Reducing our carbon emissions will reduce our dependency on foreign oil (good for all you Muslim haters out there). It reduces NOx, SOx and VOC which pollute our atmosphere, poison the air we breath and the streams where we fish and hunt. This is something I would assume we could all get behind in this community right? I have agreed with every move Trump has made thus far. However, I'd rather he focus on the trade issues, health care, continue pushing immigration reform and stay off twitter. This is one issue I can't get behind. The earth should not be political. We may end up paying more than our fair share, but for decades the US was a leader. A champion for all mankind. Please, please, please I beg of some of you. Remove your armor, understand you don't have to rally behind every decision your party makes and know that this more than anything sends a message to your kids and grandkids that money is more important than anything. Again, you don't even need to believe in global warming to know burning fossil fuels is bad for mother nature. Rally behind that.
  6. same here. Principal.
  7. 5 for me. with a newborn and new house I just couldn't do it as much as I liked. I'm ok with it though. The days I did hunt were great woods therapy.
  8. underrated and not as available as the hunter safety vests, but I can't not recommend the tree spider by Robinson more. Everyone who I've recommended it to and bought it has loved it. It's super light weight and easy on and off. no bulk or pinch. http://www.robinsonoutdoors.com/shop/tree-spider-speed-harness.html
  9. dick cams was probably flagged by your work
  10. I'm going to guess this is neighbors who don't like the killing of deer and or gun shots if allowed. I live not too far from plank. It's pretty rural in spots, but not for large stretches. why this person hasn't taken to multiple gam cams is confusing. I know it costs money, but it's the principal of it.
  11. yeah I think you're right on point. It's not that selection other than odd ammo is a problem, especially with the internet. It's the price. I just don't think we're going to find many killer deals. I noticed this off season was less spectacular than seasons past as well, but maybe it was just the stuff I was looking for.
  12. I'm sometimes overly patient with deer... but with Turkey I just can't seem to wait. Took a makable shot at 35-40. Swing and a miss. Bird jumped but didn't roll. Thinking either wing or scared. Shit.
  13. The cell doesn't do this justice. Yearling with 6" nubs 10 yards ahead of me
  14. Pain via gas prices. My point being we can overkill it, be fine with the overkill, but rarely is it not at the expense of something else to do so.
  15. Surprised it wasn't a secret as well, however they may have downplayed the success odds with a goal of sending our friends overseas a reminder of whose dicks biggest round here.
  16. Got up at 4 and took a few hours off work this am for one last crack. Nothing but fishing between now and October!
  17. big storms were fun down south. In the 2 years I was there, a few times the tornado sires went off. it was always really still before the storms hit. Luckily they never hit us, but devastated some areas not too far away.
  18. I'm the same way. There just are some things you like to see in person and of course ammo... There were some small shops down south that were just fun to visit too. Kind of like the mini-bass pros. An experience even if you didn't buy anything.
  19. I'm sure it isn't. I think it's just a thing. The same reason my car has 400hp. Not necessary, nice to have.
  20. It occurred to me as I sat in the turkey woods over the weekend that things don't look so great for our wallets. First bass pro buys cabelas, then gander is bought by camping world... we still have plenty of online retailers but local big box for urgent needs or good pricing (particularly ammo) is dwindling. Over the last 10 years I've seen Walmart and Dicks carry less and less hunting and shooting supplies. Gander was a nice option that's gone. How competitive do we expect the super retailers to be now that they're not competing with each other? I don't know, competition is a good thing for consumers... tough times I think.
  21. nothing exotic here, but 3.5" mags outta my Mossberg 835 win easily. Even with the limbsaver recoil pad lol.
  22. Good weather in 8F, but slow. Few gobbles far apart. Hen flew down not far from me and no males were answering her calls. If she can't get them in, I sure as shit can't. Lol. Called it early and taking a nap.
  23. Was it busy? Gander isn't a trip for me but pretty far out of my way.
