you did an honorable thing giving him that much effort. I can also understand how that would screw up your next days hunt. For those of us with busy family work schedules our woods time is limited and i can understand taking the other route too.
-
that doesn't mean that the eco couldn't have gone on the property though. They probably just felt it not worth their time and also entering property is different from removing the deer.
-
again, i'm pretty sure they don't need a warrant. And lets be honest, probable cause is pretty vague and a warrant not all that difficult if they want one.

I was watching an episode of some show on nat geo once about game wardens. It took place in California, but they explained they didn't need warrants to check trucks, locked containers or property. However, there was some jargon about finding something illegal that wasn't wildlife related. I dont remember the specifics. That doesn't mean they could retrieve a dead deer, but I thought I remember something about them having a little more power than your average cop. someone please correct me if i'm high.

I've always carried my bow, but you're right it's basically your only option. I actually stick with a fanny pack instead of a backpack. Take your time with the climber. There is no reason to rush. it's not worth the safety risk, it keeps your sweat down and 95% of the time a few more minutes aren't going to affect your multiple hour sit

the local store and legion? how big is your town? lol.

You have to make a reasonable attempt to prevent access, and signs aren't considered reasonable. For example if kids get into your pool and drown you're liable. Unless you have a fence. Once a fence goes up, you've generally done your part and the trespasser has now bypassed it. Should someone get lost on your property and fall down an old well you didn't properly cover or secure you're generally liable.

The internet where dumb people advertise their dumb decisions. The internet where everyone has a legal degree. good lord...

what war? maybe you're new to the internet. This is how things go here and everywhere. I certainly wouldn't consider this particular thread "a war".

no deer is better than a dead deer just rotting.
-
But wouldn't you decrease your odds of it happening by placing your stand further away from the line? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Too early for me. Young bucks are dumb, you can get away with a lot that you cannot do to fool a mature deer of either sex Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I agree. I'd only use it if I was trying to stop them in a certain spot. I have taken 2 deer just because I pee on this one spot on a run where I have a perfect shot. They stop because they're curious, then whack ! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So you would knowingly kill a deer you may not be able to recover simply because you refuse to change how you hunt your own land? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
-
Not sure I'd do the same, but I believe the point is to discourage the poor hunting and high probability of people pushing deer off his land.1 wasted life could prevent countless more. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I understand that. But some battles aren't worth fighting if they're going to get you in legal hot water or start a feud. The same deer can be killed by putting up a stand further in that doesn't border a neighbor who doesn't agree with hunting, or is a selfish hunter. I'm sure you wouldn't be thrilled if a guy put a stand up boarding your property with a shot at a run on your land? It's not so different. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I've watched mature bucks not a 100 yards from people and dogs remain unphased due to familiarity. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Such a frustrating game. Almost made it worse that they came back and gave us hope Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Great experiences with guaranteed. Also didn't have an issue with traditions. Had them restring, cut arrows and install a drop away. The string was done over night in the heart of the season. Just my personal experience though.

Ditto. But it also enforces the pre-hunt responsibility of knowing what you can and can't do and where you can and can't go. We've avoided some nice stand locations for this vary reason.
-
You of all people should care. Your website instantly loses credibility if people are found out to be lying about a bow kill.

I've heard of guys that give up meat another foods that make their sweat smell during deer season. Now that's dedication.

I believe I'm hunting in a spot where the gray squirrels thought would be a nice spot for an annual convention -
