  1. because everything in life isn't meant to be easy. that's what makes bow hunting great. the challenge and the reward. it's supposed to be hard. otherwise we would all just raise deer in pens like cows and harvest our venison that way right? stop the pussification of america buy trying to make everything easy and instant!
  2. you specifically said in your first sentence that if we were using x-bows, lest deer would be wounded. Do you not see the correlation to just banning archery or vertical bows altogether then? If you don't want wounded deer, or you want to decrease the percentage why allow them at all? If you're not proficient with your vertical than you shouldn't be in the woods. That's not the fault of the weapon, it's the hunter.
  3. so the fault of humans is the fault of the weapon? Those who do not practice enough, take poor shots and make bad decisions shouldn't be blamed? It should be the weapon. With that logic: 1. outlaw archery all together and make it rifle all the time 2. ban guns because some people use them incorrectly, for harm or have accidents with them due to carelesness 3. make cell phones illegal because some people text and drive 4. outlaw alcohol because some people can't handle it for God's sakes, this country is doomed. Nobody wants to work hard for anything anymore. Where's the pill that allows me to lose weight without exercise or eating right already!
  4. used hangers for a long time. got busted once reaching for it, and another time got caught without it and couldn't get it without being busted. since then i keep it on the rails of my climber or my lap on hang ons.
  5. been there multiple times. this is why threads about "recovery rights" come up every year.
  6. any 3.5 is a stud to me. ESPECIALLY with the stick and string. Here's my nomenclature 1.5 - little guy or scrub buck 2.5 - nice buck, tweener 3.5 - stud, shooter, mounter 4.5 and up - monster
  7. the more stories you tell, the better a picture you paint of who you are.
  8. it can get you close. but i'd never use it to decide if a tree is either in or out.
  9. My father does the same. I only use 2. A 20 and 30. I can certainly believe 3 or more might get hairy in the heat of the moment especially if you're in a climber and not familiar with all the shots and distances.
  10. I'll only move after lunch. I have plenty of antlers on the wall that came after 10am.
  11. Surveyor. Not always cheap but it's your best bet. My dad did it a few years ago after 30 years and we were a little surprised by the hardwoods boundary.
  12. You're also only supposed to drive on them to the nearest station. Lol. They're not meant for long periods of time
  13. Wow that's a stud! Congrats moog! More pics!
  14. I was going to say the same thing. Additionally, I personally don't shoot past 30. Been bow hunting over 10 years and it's serves me right so far. I'd certainly suggest a new hunter keep it under 30. Not a rule just a suggestion. Good luck.
  15. That's what? 72 times now you've posted that picture?
  16. No dumb questions. Just dumb answers from dumb people sometimes haha
  17. Just don't expect the same from cottonmouths. They'll chase your ass!
  18. Which isn't untrue so long as you still have a shot. But I digress, you're right and half the states in the union are wrong.
  19. As soon as you move the Bucks will move in haha. Hopefully you see some lone dos in heat soon
  20. Do you have anything to back this up?
  21. I've never started at the truck. Pick a good intersection along your approach. To the OP, perfect time to start!
  22. wow that's weird. I just saw it last night.
  23. I just synched it to my climber, it is for sure not better than the hooyman but the price is nicer and I think a little longer.
