  1. that diagram also needs a snow shovel after yesterday, but yeah... that's the plan. Not sure How easy it will be to access them either.
  2. I have a manual file, I spent 20 minutes in the garage on a weeknight and touched up the 20" pretty effortlessly. Was out in the woods again this weekend and she cuts just about good as new. I have no issue with manual sharpening and when a chain gets bad enough the price of a new one isn't going to kill me. My biggest concern at the moment is how am I going to get soil samples for the plot work I want to do this spring haha
  3. Love the doe mount. My grandpa had one and I always thought it was cool. Your combination with the buck is really nice. Your truck picture made me laugh as I've moved like 6 times over the last 15 years and every time I personally transported my mounts. Break my tv? Fine, I can buy a new one and you'll foot the bill. But my mounts? Can't replace those.
  4. If I'm honest I only wear chaps when I'm doing big or long projects, but that's good to know. I'm generally more cautious with eye protection and when running my 20" gas saw hearing protection.
  5. the cold shouldn't affect the passing game. It was the wind that hurt us at home last time. The biggest issue is a physical running game. Playing football my whole life up here, it just f'n hurts a lot more when you get hit. I guess catching the ball is harder too, but these guys are pros not high schoolers like i was lol.
  6. started hunting in shotgun country again. I'm right on the border of Wayne and in very rural farm country and 95% of the shots I hear around me in Monroe are for sure rifle. I don't think anyone cares. That said, I'm a rule follower and I'll say the biggest issue I have with my browning isn't the range, there's only one stand I need more range in, but it's the weight. Carrying my rifle is like a bb gun compared to my autoloader lol.
  7. I'll just throw this out there for consideration, not in an attempt to argue/dispute or to change anyone's mind. But as others have mentioned the virus is unpredictable. Those that have those symptoms that are the same and also vaxed may have got it worse, we just don't know. Those that are vaxed in the hospital... are they healthy 30 somethings or older/sicker? The human body is not the same and there are too many variables to make blanket statements. Everyone has a choice to make with the vaccine and I support that choice 100%. But I dislike the internet doctors and anecdotal stories that try and wrap a bow around what is and isn't true with this crazy time we're all going through.
  8. I'll bite. We have members disappear all the time. You and I have no idea what anyone really has going on in their life. And for sure a dead member isn't coming back to let us know they died of covid. Outside of the 20 or so members that know each other outside of this forum we would never know.
  9. his symptoms don't sound like the sniffles
  10. not necessarily true depending on the variant, but yes most likely ok. Even more ok if you got the ole jaby jaby.
  11. Yeah kunz seems to be the most well rated… but yeah price is by far the most. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Right now I'm evaluating the dr. field and swisher. There are a few models in each lineup that are in the mix. the 44" models put in me in and around $3k depending on the model.
  13. Looking for recommendations on a brush cutter. I have a UTV with a 2" hitch. I wouldn't be doing any sapling work over 2". This would be used primarily for a few small 1/2 acre fields that intend to plant on and a 9acre fruit tree orchard. So ideally the ability to get in and around trees would be higher up on my priority list than clearing a field with a wider deck in a shorter amount of time.
  14. same thing man... same thing. Even if I get a buck early I still motivate myself with doe tags and I'm just out there regardless lol.
  15. We have metal roofs on our cabins up in the daks and they're awesome. I'm no roofing expert but for these types of structures I think that's the way most recommend to go.
  16. hunted 3 evenings. Couldn't get the motivation to get up early for the action I was seeing on cams. Could have had an opportunity at doe if I was in the right spot and I would have taken that opportunity. All in all, I was annoyed because the weather was perfect for some off season stuff I wanted to get to and now it's snowy and bone chilling cold. That said, this year and next will be unique in that regard so it's not a huge deal. I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it. I need to be saved from myself as I can't resist the urge to hunt if the season is open and the season is too long as it is.
  17. congrats man, that's awesome I can't imagine the freedom you'll feel now from an apartment. I would recommend you focus on that roof area first as it looks like there may have been some leaks in the past (maybe fixed now?). All the work you do on the inside, especially with any mounts could be lost if your structure isn't sound. Oh and obligatory hunting question. Any land?
  18. I was shocked at how happy I am with it. It is single handedly one of my farvorite buys last year. It's super quiet, doesn't stink like gas, it's instant on and off with a trigger pull and I haven't met a chore that it couldn't handle that a 10" gas saw could. Basically it's awesome for trim work. If you're looking for a con, I'd say that if it gets gummed up with stuff it wont work itself clear as well as gas and it takes a little longer to cut through given less rmp's but it's also so light that I've done some 1 handed hanging off a tree type stuff. The lower rpm's aren't a deal breaker at all. Thing looks like a toy but it's not. I also wanted a backup battery and found a good deal on 2 4ah batteries and I've worked for hours and not had my 4ah run dry on me yet. https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-20-Volt-Max-Lithium-Ion-10-in-Cordless-Electric-Chainsaw-Battery-Included/5001583789
  19. with the app on your phone it's pretty easy now. For me $20 or so to make a game more interesting is a neat new wrinkle. Will see if I have better luck on sports than I do with options on wallstreet haha
  20. Anybody start placing bets over the weekend (legally haha)? I hit on 5 of 6 small bets, best payout was Georgia. Damn Cardinals let me down. What app/service are you guys using? I started with DraftKings as they had some good promos for new users from NY.
  21. The meat is fine. Would you eat a restaurant if that's how their kitchen looked? I've butchered and ground countless deer. It's a process that includes a big ass surface, scales and cutting boards for the trim and fat (if used). Here's a pic from a few years ago. I've improved the process even more since then. Maybe there's a nice clean sterile surface out of frame? I don't know, only wolc does. You can be the judge. I added some pictures of how I do a whole turkey so you don't feel left out.
  22. Just need a pic of that food safety nightmare grinder and the thread will be complete. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
