yeah this guys a homer so I'm sure I'll get some daylight pics soon. I'll post them when I get them. Not much barb wire fence around, but for sure the potential to snag it on something, somewhere.

a few of the yote(s), I have at least a dozen more

My 40 doesn't have a ton of coyote pressure. I get them here and there on cams, and there's a few big dogs but last night I had at least 2 dogs running around the 40 popping several cams at opposite ends of the 40. Then I see the pics of this buck that I have seen a hundred times and I think this might be a bite mark? Too big for a gouge I think, but also maybe an arrow, maybe car? Thoughts?

can't say I could or would condone something illegal. But I get it. I'd rather see the law changed.

It's funny there is more real estate on the front of a box taken up by what IS NOT in the cereal these days than what is. I miss the days of where's waldo on the back

Barometric pressure more important then wind?
Five Seasons replied to corydd7's topic in Deer Hunting
fair point. I guess maybe I should have clarified to say "changing winds". On Tuesday the wind started out of the North, changed to NE in an hour and by sunset was out of the south. It was annoying. -

this here depends on goals too. over hunting early will greatly decrease your chance at a big buck, which as we know is not everyones goal. Overhunting early will have less an impact on doe and smaller bucks. Of course one of the top reasons many of us hunt is the escape, and I belong to this club so I'm still getting out there if I can and conditions are right. -

I'd second this but would add that swirling winds even on a relatively calm day are the worst. I'd take 10-15 and consistent over 0-5 and swirling, especially early season with the wild temp swings that the sun will have on thermals. -
I don't think anyone is missing anything. Warm and sunny these past few days, big moons at night, tomorrow is wind and rain. Honestly I appreciate it as it's helping me resist the urge to hunt which can burn stands. As others have mentioned, even without loosing an arrow, you start to educate very quickly even with your approach in and out of stands. Friday still looks windy, but I'm probably still going to try for an AM hunt if work allows.

Yes and if you look closely you'll realize that I actually shot him with my 06 and put her tag on it because youth season. I'm thinking a semi-sneek slight turn to the left mount.

nope. dudes make up the most random shit to try and justify things.

Funny enough on a warm sunny day I had a 1.5 on cam at 10am and a 2.5 on cam around noon.

What's your favorite sound to hear in the deer woods?
Five Seasons replied to Five Seasons's topic in Deer Hunting
You ever wonder if the rest of the woods hates that first bird though? Like, oh there's steve up and ready already and it's still dark and it's nice and warm in here but that bastard has to be up and chipper making the rest of us look bad. -

god damn i hate the blue jay. I know what you mean though. -
It's ridiculous that we don't have an easy process for disabled and senior citizens to hunt with a crossbow. I'm sure some slimy folks would use this to get their fake doctors note, but those guys are already slimy and probably already hunting their private property with one. I have my opinions on the crossbow, but they stop when it prohibits a non-able bodied hunter from enjoying the deer woods.

we have a separate thread for political humor.

Probably a good few days to take off and not to burn out stands early. I've found the 10th-20th or so always sucks. It's not that you can't get a nice buck or even see deer, just lower odds. Also full moon and warmer temps. Looks like Friday or Saturday is the next best time for me in 8F.

I've never been a big "hut" guy. Something about my dad and uncles instilling in me at a young age that deer hunting must be physically punishing or something lol. But man there are some days during gun that I'd really love one of those.

100% that's why I was hoping to take her out pre-rut haha. Oh well.

It’s possible she was blowing at something else. But no never looked at me once. As high as I am and with the thermals it’s totally possible. Maybe it was more like 70, but still. The 2 separate doe groups didn’t seem to like each other, so maybe blowing at the other doe but I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. The does dawn did look like she wanted to play with the other kids but mom wasn’t having it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well shows what I know. 10 doe, a button and a scrubby 5. Would have arrowed 3 of the doe but they never came within bow range. Frustration of hunting a plot I guess. First doe might have winded me too as the winds were swirling and at about 90 yards she stopped dead. Stood there for like 4 minutes before blowing and taking off. No matter how hard you try you can’t beat a does nose. Sun was dropping so thermals didn’t help. Funny to see the scrub buck chase the doe around too. She wanted nothing to do with ass. Regretting this hunt and stand choice. Weather is supposed to warm up this week so I thought low 50’s would be good but damn it’s hot in the sun. My best chance is the last 45min. Normally don’t want any wind, but the occasional breeze is nice but even the wind is against me and swirling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
