  1. Boy Lawdawz its too bad you aren't more lucky and have better spots, you might be able to kill a perfect 12 pointer instead..lol
  2. Honestly not to sound like a jerk, it didnt sound like this buck was making his home on your turf Cabin so you would have had to have been real lucky to get a crack at him, especially with the rut.
  3. This is typical of a liver hit aswell, I didn't want to say it before but once you jump one like this they will go till they drop and finding them went to a lower percentage. Good luck.
  4. Oh snap, makes sense now. There has to be some one out there that needs a good rifle at a reasonable price.
  5. Theres a few good ideas right there, I want a sign for when we are camping to hang out on the front. Going off of Early's idea, you could go on line and have a calendar made with pics of family and the lil one with what ever you want to say. My wife gets those for me for work and I love it.
  6. How about a fresh gut pile, those are always in fashion. hehe Anything for processing a kill needed up there?
  7. You insult damn near every hunter with a broad brush and claim its not a personal insult and cry when the heat comes back on you, yea makes sense. And I don't care what you shoot, ever, I was just pointing out that like your avatar, you are talking out of both side's of your mouth.
  8. "I have attacked nobody personally," riiigghhttttt You started with "Use a real bow" and cursing then went into this and lets not forget the chest pounding in the Button buck thread (and this one too), by that way congrats on the two immature bucks you killed this year under the excuse of limited hunting time, makes perfect sense to claim to hold out and then kill the first couple that stumble by. You are full of it
  9. Slightly above average season thus far for us as far as sightings and average for kills with plenty of time left to go we should finish up above average in the freezer department.
  10. Check a place called Buffalo Hotel Supply, I got a cheap one for @140 a few years back also a member named Culvercreek picked up a real nice one online (from amazon maybe?) for around $200-$300 last year. Actually he got it for free because they smashed it during shipping. www.buffalohotelsupply.com I deal with these guys threw work so I got a discount but their prices are fair.
  11. I would look for a bit more power and all metal internals. I recomend going commercial grade, try a kitchen outlet store for a deal.
  12. I've killed pheasants with a long barrel and I've killed em with short barrels. Choke is most important, my 870 is a short barrel/iron sights with a screw in choke and I like it because it swings fast. My o/u has a 26 inch barrel and also swings fast go figure lol. My vote would be for what ever gun you can afford that offers a screw in choke and short barrel, that way you can use it for any kind of birds and deer all in one gun. As far as rifle, I too am partial to wood stocks just cause they are so purty although I do own a couple of ugly guns as I refer to them as (synthetic stocks). I'm a Browning guy.
  13. Give him as long as you can stand it, preferably over night at this point it aint worth jumping him again. If not track slow and keep an eye for him bedded and try to sneak in for a finisher.
  14. Most likely liver, maybe one lung. But then again you could have hit it anywhere who knows. He is hurt, thats why he bedded down close, typical of a liver hit.
  15. Wow thanks!!! Looks like I can get into the hobby for $4-$500 to start with the extras you listed, it would pay for itself rather quickly with the cost of ammo and a whole family of shooters. I bet I have spent at least that much over the last year on ammo. When I get home I will make my wish list and start aquiring supplies.
  16. So what besides what comes in the kit would a guy need?
  17. Sweet, I was just reading threads yesterday on reloading and wondering where to begin.
  18. So when are we ripping it down then? lol Let me know I'm here for you.
  19. I have had both, my sportbike days were way more fun. But I think those days are gone now that I have been off a bike for a few years, but I just don't know if I would be happy putting around on a big slow cruiser. Here is my list of bikes I once owned.. 81 Honda CBX 500 ($200 bike and a death trap haha) 2003 Suzuki Maurader 800, traded that in after grinding foot pegs for a few months 2003 Suzuki Hayabusa, put many many miles on that one 2006 Hayabusa that I sold to buy a camper after having my daughter. Just didn't have time to ride any more. Only got one ticket on a bike ever but was pulled over more than once. hehe I would hands down ride a Busa again but might like a sport touring type in addition to that. I don't have to worry about buying one for a long time any how so it really doesn't matter.
  20. Speaking of seats... these guys did my seats back in the day when it was a different company, top notch work and very comfy custom seat. http://newimageseats.com/about/
  21. Tacky as all get out...puke paint job. Get rid of the old man wind screen too. I used to ride but no more, I might get another one some day but who knows. Be safe and enjoy.
