  1. Rage bought Muzzy a few years ago. I stopped having luck with Muzzy right before that, not sure why but I couldn't get them to stop planeing (SP?) for me.
  2. I won't shoot Rage because of the rubber band, not cost but that's just me.
  3. ....Doesn't own a bow even......and bow/arrows are nothing like rifle/bullets, not even close.
  4. haha you had to repost your response to FSW who apparently you think speaks on my behalf. This has nothing to do with lead but its time for you to hear it. You wouldn't have to worry about burning through copper slugs because you don't kill any game to speak of. I do find it comical when you post excuses during season as to why you aren't hunting (weather ect), and when you give input on bow hunting equipment and methods when the truth is you don't even own a bow. Or when you give advice on big woods hunting when the truth is you don't venture far from camp. Or when you whine about having to hunt state land but never bother to go out and secure private land access in the same area I have zero issue getting access. Barely hunting still makes you a hunter though.
  5. You are fine to shoot mechanicals with your set up. Any lower than 60 and I would look at the heads built for lower ke. Edit to add IMO and I am not an expert on mechanicals. I switched to them two years ago. I shoot NAP Killzones and what ever their three blades are called. Lol
  6. My wife and now 12yr old son shoot the 250 Piledrivers. 60# 26 inch draws and 27 inch arrows finished come to 450. I just weighed them, plenty of weight for deer.
  7. Is Hillary doing the work because a bunch of threads are missing. I kid I kid, I know she is busy.
  8. Expensive habit no matter how you slice it, $15-1600 a year on that is crazy. just think you could buy your own plot of land with what you spend on things that will cause health issues down the road costing you more money.
  9. No I'm not. When have you killed game in the last couple of years? He made a comment about using lead alternatives to hunt with not target practice with, come on keep up Rob. My advice to vly and others is to offer the info and leave the thread because all of these internet scientist will do nothing but argue no matter what. A good number of those same guys don't get off the couch long enough to worry about poisoning anything with lead.
  10. Rob smokes and drinks beer he doesn't sip lattes get it right! I have never seen him post about shooting anything actually so I think a box of copper slugs could last him a life time.
  11. What is the name of the club again?, cool stuff.
  12. A little info you folks... "One egg is laid daily until a clutch averaging 9 to 11 eggs is completed. Incubation takes 28 days, and all poults hatch within a 24-hour period. Depending on weather, the brood hen and poults leave the nest within 24 hours of hatching. Peak hatching period is from about May 20 to June 10. If the first nest is destroyed, some hens attempt a second nest. Hens that have to re-nest lay fewer eggs. Generally, less than half of all nesting attempts are successful. The fact that wild turkeys nest on the ground and require a total of 6 weeks to lay and incubate eggs makes hens and their nests vulnerable to predation and human disturbance (destroying nests by burning, mowing, and discing). Common predators of turkey eggs include raccoons, skunks, opossums, crows, and snakes. Mortality rates of poults generally range from 70 to 80 percent or higher, especially during their first 2 weeks of life, when they are unable to fly and roost under the hen on the ground. Poult predators include mammals of which raccoon and bobcats cause the greatest loss. Foxes and coyotes are also important predators. Birds caused 13 percent and reptiles were responsible for 4 percent of the loss. Feral dogs and cats also will prey on hens/eggs when the opportunity arises. Fortunately, turkeys have a high reproductive potential, and one good hatch can significantly increase populations and offset previous poor hatches."
  13. 100% sure its the Zika I agree with Wooly, hair.
  14. Definition of gundog : a dog trained to work with hunters by locating and retrieving game gun dog n.A dog trained or bred to assist hunters, as in flushing or retrieving game. noun 1. a dog trained to help a hunter, as by pointing or retrieving game As I said, any dog any game. If you are hunting as a team, you have yourself a gun dog. IMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Gun Dog encompasses all forms of dog used for all forms of hunting. Semantics I know.
  16. Who said Terriers aren't gun dogs? Anyway, there is nothing stopping anyone from starting threads in the small game section now. I know there isn't a lot of depth because I have been here since 2010.
  17. Ha, we were out Sunday in our Row boat, same cramped feeling I'm sure but at least you have a trolling motor. I am 100% oar powered..lol
  18. There just isn't a whole lot of depth on this forum surrounding gun dogs. Realistically how many of us do you think post here? Maybe 6 I can think of, I mean if you guys want to go on about specifics I'm here but I'm not sure if its worth it with all of the detractors that crap on every thread.
  19. I don't see this site as a good spot for that, if you want hunting dog forums, seek them out. This site is more suited for Deer hunting lite post's. There are a ton of good dog hunting FB pages and at least a couple good gun dog forums.
  20. I think you fellas have enough boats that I can bum a spot for a year straight lol. And one of the main reasons I will upgrade is safety, thanks for all the important info!
  21. I think the only thing left to do is stage an accident and sink the damn row boat. I'll get my son in on it so it seems like a close call and we were lucky to make it out alive.
  22. Says the guy who follows Mike around harassing him.
  23. Yea that's a step up from what I would get I think. Plus the price tag jumps on bass rigs. I'm thinking something like this but used. I like the flat floor. http://www.rowboatking.com/
  24. I showed her the 500 pound weight limit and she understood that we can't all go out safely, plus there is a crack on the top rail in the center of the back where a motor would mount. I want to sell it or trade it in honestly. It is @75 years old so it has been around long enough.
  25. I have been looking a bit and seating is the biggest item for me, rigs like yours are what I need but to get seating for 3-4 I need to jump to 16 I think.
