  1. Nice pup, I have always liked the looks of Setters. If you ever want to raise your own training birds check out this place, I used them this past year and very happy. Great prices and service, I will be upping my order next year. http://www.wrhatchery.com/bobwhite-quail-chicks.html
  2. 150ish pound 2.5 yr old all day long. Enough with the happy age and weight estimates. We weigh every deer we take and have for years, I can say with no uncertainty that ain't a 210 pound deer.
  3. 50 but I love to as close as possible. Longest shot was 36 so far, closest has been feet.
  4. Hoyt Nitrum with a Rip Cord Ace and a Truglo Site. That's my wife's Hoyt Charger next to it.
  5. Clearly those are JA's or as you would call them, Jesus Arrows. No aiming required just let JC do his thing. JA's work best on Sundays.
  6. I use a big 5/16 Meta peep and a plain old d loop. No issues with peep roll up at all.
  7. https://www.remington.com/search/shotguns?productfamily=All&cartridge=All&barrellength=All&barreltype=All&stockmaterial=All&stockfinish=All&additionaloptions=Left-Hand&passion=All I don't see them in left hand.
  8. Yes, close to 18 years ago. I do not care for the newer ones in the looks department with the dull matte finish. Absolutely nothing wrong with a used gun. They make 870's in lefty now, just the matte finish though. Mine came with a 30 inch full choked bird barrel, later on I got a 21 inch rifled sights barrel with screw in choke. I use that now for deer and turkey with their respective chokes. Love it.
  9. I have never been able to settle for a ugly tupper ware stock. Sure it will cost a little more but its worth it to me. Sadly I have spent @6 times what a Savage Axis cost on a gun before. Never regretted it for a single second. Edit to add I never had a gun given to me either and I came up in a hunting family, plus I was the first lefty so if I wanted anything I was on my own. I started out with a 870 Wingmaster, gloss wood stock real nice and then went on to rifles and more shot guns.
  10. Only one issue, Browning's AB3 Stalker doesn't come in wood stock and blued and left hand. You will want to see the X Bolt which does come in Left hand wood/blued. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/72288/Browning+XBLT+Hunter+270+LH
  11. Being a lefty will limit what manufacturers you have to choose from but not significantly, for a newb I would stay with mild recoil. So anything from 7-08 to 30.06 will be just fine. Browning and Savage offer Wood stocked guns for Lefty's as well as a few others.
  12. I noticed that your BH's and FP's drift apart further once adding the lighted nocks. Try FP and BH both with and with out the lighted nocks. If they fall in line but are separate up and down all you need is a nock point adjustment.
  13. That's what happens when she makes a pig of herself at the corn buffet.
  14. Nock is dead on but you could go up to an 1/8th high and be fine, wouldn't be too hard to remove the metal and shimmy the bottom of the D loop higher. No need for the metal anyway. This will bring your BH down.
  15. Wait I see the issue, its a Matthews. Throw that out and go buy a Hoyt, they tune themselves while you sleep. I kid...
  16. What if you move it back the other way one hash? Experiment, honestly as long as you have consistent BH flight you can always go back to the settings that gave you good groups and adjust sights for the year. Its not right but sometimes its just easier. I got rid of my WB for these reasons, I never felt like I had a 100% perfect tune no matter what bow I had and what I did.
  17. Moog, would a stiffer spine cause the right flight? It looks like that if I am understanding the chart.
  18. Neat, never knew that. Well I can deff see where that would cause arrows to group differently.
  19. Moog I think the angle of the pics makes the arrows look like they are hitting weird. I agree though tiny move to the left will help. "Also, using lighted nocks, which weigh more, will stiffen your arrow dynamically" Does adding weight to the rear of an arrow add stiffness? Usually adding weight lessens stiffness.
  20. In this day and age of cams every where what kind of a moron does this?
  21. Job well done! Now you have learned the ins and outs, anytime you change something in your set up be prepared to do it again. You'll learn to love it.
