not worried about the snow. i am worried about losing power though despite it shouldn't be heavy with the cold. at the old house i had a whole house generator on an automatic transfer switch. i'll be in the dark without heat with this new house.

around 2000 was the same out this way and everywhere i think. we'd see that many in a field. now post season we're like 17 or less in a field. logging off a lot of the woods to let some sun light hit the dirt. woods were open and bare from those years. we've taken at least twice the DEC expected doe harvest per square mile for several years now to offset voluntary antler restrictions and lower the doe population. got to manage deer herd based on what you see and not DEC's average for a whole WMU. i agree with what you're saying.

are you implying you believe Paula watched the whole twerking video?
-
if i hit my stride everyone would claim there's not much for deer and i'd be tarred and feathered in the square! i get crap now taking more than one doe and a buck some years.
-
i'd say your ready. i used to be that ready. new house has got me all messed up.

i just checked weatherunderground which is usually very good. i have 2" prior to Saturday then both Sat and Sun 8-12" each day. then clear then another 12" or so later in the week. 3' of snow within the 10 day forecast. new house doesn't have a garage so all the equipment has been sitting at a farm. better go get it and make sure it's running!

have a cam still brewing next to a sanctuary unless the batteries are dead or card is full. i'll pull it soon and post what i find. unless it's something real big.

damn that number would take us 80 years to reach with just over 330 acres out this way! lol
-
last time i saw that was the first time. my cousin shared it on facebook. i didn't realise it was replay and watched it several times in a row. ain't doing that again, despite it's a really great video. lol

oh man... when they're short on cash and can't use credit at Aldis you swoop in to pay their $40 dollar bill and then they owe you. That's a bold move.

idk somebody's going somewhere now. where i don't know. i just commented on Biz's fashion choices.

my shafts are carbon that look like wood. that's enough for me. i know where this is going. dude stuck some big game with a spear not long ago and lost his sponsors. i can't have that happen. no way.

You're out classed by the puppies but Paula should give ya credit for the argyle print. Shoes I reserve comment. Bro the doily lap band they got going on cant be helping your chances. Clean lines man. Paula of course reserves all final say which can be subject to change once she's done using either of you. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

i bet it was the socks that did it.

don't do anything special. it'll work just fine unless it's brutally cold. colder it is the slower the vaporization rate of the propane. if you try to turn it up it won't do much good and likely just snuff out the flame. has to be really cold though. you should be fine.

never hunted coyotes at night. always during the day. seems like it's a way different experience.

opinions on this parcel of land for hunting?
dbHunterNY replied to goosifer's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
the more you're fair with people the more they'll help you police your land. you're all vested to look after each other. everyone in the community won't allow an individual or small group to screw things up for everyone else. -
traditional whitetail destination states will always have potential and produce big ones. some others down south that weren't known for taking anything but quantity are now really coming up with great deer rivaling some of the midwest. Trophy management was always a total hit or miss down there, but with the concept of QDM now having been in full stride and spreading it's showing. people aren't doing it for antlers but antlers are a biproduct and what they're getting.

i get it. the logistics of the getting people together and doing it as a group is definitely a challenge for all the stuff we do. We've mentored new hunters in the past just not in such a formal PR'ed setting as you've said. i think we just need some help getting new hunters, sending any our way would certainly help if they're from our area. don't think our branch is giving up on the farmers markets but so far it just isn't working. only finding polar opposites here in the capital region. I might start trolling social media for locavore type of pages to assist those in our branch spear heading this. access to property is harder here in NY than down in southern states with larger tracts dedicated to hunting with more tags and deer density. you guys are even better off in that sense than we are. i mean DEC has expected just 3 doe taken per square mile here with DMP tag allocations to support that. we'll keep the smaller class idea in mind. though i imagine we'll run with it once we have a small group.

OMG you made cupcakes out of venison?! you guys are awesome! seriously though you've got it figured out it seems for just being the first go around. next year should be easier program wise, despite the hunting will always be just that. we tried getting into another farmers market in a different county. problem is we were too well received, everybody that walked up to the table there had camo on! lol you all definitely made it seem easy, not to sound ignorant. wish you the same success this year.
