wolc just dropped to his knees prayed for your forgiveness and accepted sacrifice on behalf of your sin. therefore, good Lord will probably have at least 4 button bucks relocate far from his hunting grounds before next fall. i hope your happy. -

i could see you saying that about @turkeyfeathers but that's obviously Biz's aunt he's taken with him. How dare you say such a thing?! Here we all thought you were a suave gentleman.- 10374 replies

good to hear it just wasn't your time. i'd stay off the log pile from now on. lol

i've benched this pistol. it'll hold a group at least cutting the 10 ring with what ammo i've got which is some older purple box Eley Sport. Not sure the velocity. I've got half a case of Aguila target on deck after that which is a touch hotter but still standard velocity. there was a run of CCI that was 1200 fps that could hold them all well within the 10 ring but that's a touch hot for getting back on target during timed and especially rapid fire. I can send it out to Clark custom for the best result but I was thinking it might be better to get a Volquartsen trigger kit for just over $100 and install the parts myself (some friends on standby that have done them) when i have time. i already plan on taking a basic Harrett National target grip with palm swell and "ruining" it with some JB weld wood putty.

we're both technically eastern NY. we've gotten a lot of 2.5 year old bucks with respectable antlers taken mid season that weigh around 120 or a touch more. others with lesser antlers seem to weigh more. i thinks it just the fact it's still a fairly young deer that only has so much energy put into growing. plus the buck as you said probably ran some fat off. i was honestly going to guess around 140lbs though. -
as a club we don't really get into rimfire rifle competition other than non-stanard silhouette matches at 100 yards and bowling pin shoots with the pins at the very edge of the table. 22 rifle like this is a boat loads of fun and more what i'm used to shooting. i do know some clubs do the format you posted whether it's just the club or traveling league matches i'm not sure. relatively new to this traveling team and precision pistol thing.

NRA format indoors match shot at a distance of 50 feet with a 22LR pistol with one hand only and unsupported. 10 shots at each of 3 targets for a total score of 300 possible. First course of fire is slow fire, which is 10 shots fired in 10 minutes at a NRA B-2 target. Next course of fire is timed fire which each of two 5 shot strings are shot in 20 seconds at a B-3 target. Last course of fire is rapid fire which each of two 5 shot strings are shot in 10 seconds at a B-3 target.

that's my problem i'm not shooting much. this club had targets a little high and everyone on our team shot a touch low. slow fire and timed fire you can see where i changed things and i shouldn't for each 5 shot course of fire. first shots where under the 10 or X. then i tried to pull it up a little but grip tightened and pulled on the trigger too much causing the shots low and left (i'm right handed). then i loosened up too much and started healing the gun causing the erratic high shots. are top shooter told me i should've just let myself group a touch low and i probably would've shot well. next time he said don't try to change things in the middle of a match. i've still got the stock trigger that's twice as heavy as most people and a run of the mill grip that hasn't been modified to conform to my hand any better. i'm shooting a basic Ruger Mark III hunter and it was just a fun thing to do. might get a little more serious and tackle the stuff i mentioned.

Fairly new to indoor NRA. Like golf. You have to be consistent. Tonight was at another club range. Targets higher causes weird form stuff I'm still learning about. Botched my score a bit. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

had a heating system pipe leak at the house i just moved into. looks like someone did a half ass job soldering the elbow going into the fin tube to stop a previous leak prior to putting in the new carpet. ripped up the carpeting and working on getting it all fixed. at the office for a little then heading back home to get heat in much of the house back up and look into flooring and replacing carpet. no live from the stand for me... again. hopefully i can get out the last weekend.- 10374 replies

i know some don't really take Boy Scouts seriously. Reaching Eagle Scout opens a lot of doors though. Congrats to him and you. Like others have said they don't just vote or hand that on a whim.

the 28 days things must be a myth. around here rutting is pretty hard before and after the NYS deer seasons. -
good thing DEC ECOs are now of the opinion he's a whistle blower without a cause. too bad you have to deal with that. another thing, we've gotten mature bucks that just didn't have a big rack, despite having lots of mass. last one i recall was a 6 pointer that we sent the incisors to a lab that came back at 5.5 yrs old.

How do you figure out who is the best deer hunter ?
dbHunterNY replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
i got a good nights sleep over the course of well more than normal... next i know my wife has a new flagship PSE Pro Series bow with custom arrows and top of the line accessories. i don't think it's left the case in a couple years. -

she shoots a new mathews. high maintenance and can't listen to well. to her credit though she's keeping good form with such a heavy black bow putting so much pressure on her face. i'm giving her the benefit of the doubt she's not squared up to the target, instead of having a botched boob job. another issue. Biz's aunt could totally out shoot her. -
i'd think by now hunters have moved on to other activities. hunted a lot of the public around here but not that one yet. even if it's a bust you should still hunt it. better than sitting in a lodge like you said.
-
they definitely are under staffed. Canzeri from here just crossed over into Albany county to nab some poachers. they got caught because they jacked a deer from the truck, tossed it in the back, but it wasn't dead. they got caught from the aftermath and looking for it. we've had columbia county ECO's travel north to assist out here too. also had some from region 5 head south.
-
i get that scenario.
-
i'm really curious about the Realm SS.
-
i've shot the RPM 360. i could see it being a handful if you get lax with shooting. not really what i think of as a hunting bow. even for western stuff.

can't justify ditching my 2011 PSE Evo it works. i've gotten newer bows since and sold them. only one i've kept was my 3D rig which is a 39" ata Elite Victory.
