  1. Doc check out some of the propane radiant patio heaters.. they look like umbrellas and heat objects rather then air. I took the family on a Christmas train ride where one of the cars was open, we sat under one of these heaters and it was actually quite comfortable even with the cold temperatures and the breeze. 2. it been more then 4 years of unintended consequences... unless you shot one or was shot at by one while serving... no one knew what an AR or AK was until the Clinton administration started trying to limit or ban them.. now they are a huge chunk of the industry... tell people they can't have something and they will do whatever possible to get it! 3. well doc... you have posted it and most bow hunters have said it that gun hunters shoot at anything and everything... so would there be an increase in doe take during gun season if they're already being shot at anyway?Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  4. it's sad... we have lost a lot of talent this year already... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  5. ask yourself... do I need an 800yrd gun? if 500 plus yard shots are common.. it's an excellent round.. if you are like most of us in NY most shots are under 150 yrds, big slow moving bullets work very well. my goto is a ruger carbine in 44 mag. I also carry an h&r in 45/70.... deer don't walk away. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  6. how do you hunt deer with seabass? can they be used during bow season?.... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  7. I'm a bit confused... sell a gun you must be an ffl. to be an ffl you have a buisness. if you spend the time and money to get an ffl you need to sell more guns to pay the fees. the more guns you sell the more guns in public..... the more they spew about gun control the guns are bought.... these people are idiots... although it would be nice to have a gun store on every block in town and in every apartment building in the country! 8. well law... you have had it a whole sunday..... how does it work? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  9. grow... yes you are right.. your property is yours.. but let's talk recovery rights in a congested areas. if commercial herd reduction takes place, the state will over rule rights and allow removal for just pick a reason. Now if the same rules applied to recreational hunting it would allow more congested areas to be hunted.. example if you had 4 to 6 urban lots you have permission to hunt you have enough room to get offsets, but unless the surrounding properties at least 3 to 4 blocks out do not give you recovery right... no sense in hunting there. now you have a whole neighborhood that looks like Cayuga hieghts, or a Rochester suburb. Now grow.. be honest here, you go above and beyond when posting your property with your full name, a complete address and phone number.. you are one of the few. most property is posted 'smith.. syracuse'. so yes recovery rights do need to be addressed as part of the problem.Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  10. well according to most bow hunters... gun hunters already shoot anything that's brown and moves.. so making a doe only during gun will have no effect... they are already being shot... now on a less sarcastic note... a bigger problem is no hunt zones in high density deer areas. if you could get enough residents in and area such as Cayuga heights. to get you offsets, the fact the town does not allow it and some of the peta folks not allowing recovery you end up with what they got.... a mess. some areas of the state are following the same path with housing developments, corporate parks, and here's an interesting one that's occurring in our area, the Buddhist are buy large tracks of land.. for those who don't know they are a reincarnation, vegetarian type of religion. so unless the state steps in and holds deer rights over property owners rights, the problem will only get worse...Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  11. I do get a chuckle out of some of these posts. a few posters are the same people that refused to bow hunt the first 2 weeks in doe only areas. then there is the land usage problems.... when the state land near over populated areas such as Cayuga heights get pressured up the deer do what deer do... run for the safe zones.. now the dec is left holding the bag on how to correct the over population at hand. the hunters won't do it.. the municipalities won't allow it.. government does what government does.. finds a solution that no one likes and makes it law. after this season everyone is under the impression that the deer Hurd is down. but what I saw is when it got cold, the wind blew and it the snow flew... 37 deer in 1 day on state land. 3 deer in the 3 weeks prior.. none after. I'm not a fan of how the dec manages the deer Hurd, but it does make me chuckle when as sportsman were asked to cull some doe but many won't because they don't have a big enough rack. 12. might have to reconsider getting a dog for a guard! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  13. maybe even think about an h&r in a 44 mag. minimal recoil, light weight, not to expensive if it should get dropped... plus with a single shot, after they pull the trigger the gun is dead. so when the excitement of the moment overwhelms everyone it puts an extra level of safety in the stand. 14. that's Walmart's policy..... not the law.Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  15. it may both weight and bullet shape. if the gun has a long throat.. ( distance between the bullet and the groves) the heavier round nose will be closers to engaging the lands which normally makes a tighter group. the spire may be shorter plus the shape of the bullets makes it a longer distance to the lands. nothing wrong with the gun you just have to choose ammo accordingly. 16. Maine-Endwell 62 game win streak has just come to an end.... they lost to South park buffalo... 43-26... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  17. tuckersdaddy

    Maybe

here's an idea.... if you want to shoot a 120 plus rack go shoot one. they are out there if you put in the time and effort. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  18. let's us know how the new 336 compares to the old... my 336 (30-30) was built in '52and is a great old gun... curios if the new ones compair.. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  19. yes it was created for primitive pursuit... and that is exactly what a cross bow is.. cap and ball gun as well. my head shaker is the assumption that the compound is primitive. seeing some of these new bows, lighted pins, digital sights there is more technology in these bows then I have in my old ford pick-up. if the season was long/recurve I might look at it differently... but then again the 100 voices that use them would make no sound against the masses. so I stick with... if it allows more people to get in the field, it's good for the sport.Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  20. sometimes there simply not enough hours in the day. when my kids were toddlers time was more plentiful. you will see in a few years when kids 7:30 bed time turns into I hope we get home from practice or scouts by 9. when you trade opening weekend and 2 others to watch your daughters softball tournaments, or you end up working 2 jobs so you can have your kids participate in those activities... it's good to see the passion fueling these debates , but it appears there is a selfishness of some hunters that a particular season belongs to them because they choose to use one implement over another that operate on the same principle. and yes it is the same... insert arrow, draw, line up sites, pull the trigger. so if having a stock on a bow allows me or anyone the ability for whatever reason to spend more time in the field the answer should always be yes.Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  21. closer to a 30/30 but not exactly. to get any acceptable velocity mine needs to shoot a 123 gr bullet. I shoot 170 grains in my 30/30. I load 123 gr. Speer tnt varmint bullets on top of a max load of accuracy powder and it works very well on deer with proper placement. for optics stick with the ruger rings and good glass. I fought 2 different rail systems that shook loose after 1 or 2 mags. mine has been very reliable. I don't recall any ftf and I'm well over a 1000 rounds. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  22. thug... most AR guys that look down on the minis have never shot one. mine will cloverleaf 5 shots at 100 yds. with the right rounds. compact and a solid gun. philo... the 30 is a 7.62 x 39 or the new 300 blackout, not a .308.. big difference. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  23. grandma use to pickle the heart and tongue.... it was quite good. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  24. after careful inspection of the photos I belive it's miss Jr Bigfoot 2015..... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  25. I vote for the middle and southern region 7. quite a few 130 plus bucks, lots of deer, and lots of state land. western ny, westchester, and li have great deer but if you don't have the land to hunt on your only way of getting a shot is with a camera! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
