Corporate take over of farming is nothing new. A lot of what used to be small family owned farms in the Midwest and south have been bought up and out by large corporations over the years. All this was done with the help of big banks who put farmers into financial hock with big loans and then turning on them by manipulating markets and pricing, and then hammering them with regulation to make them go broke. To put all the blame on Obama like this is all something new just sounds like right wingnut tin foil hat stuff because the takeover of farming has happened a long time ago with the help of big business and banks which both parties are guilty of being in bed with.

PETA Plans to Fly Drones That Would 'Stalk Hunters
sits in trees replied to mmkay's topic in General Chit Chat
Another BS article trying trying to get everyone riled up, I've been hunting state and private lands in NY for 45 years, from the eastern tip of Long Island right up to the Northern Catskills and way up in the Adirondacks. I have yet to see a Peta or any kind of protestor in the woods, not saying it doesn't happen but its not something I'm in the least bit concerned about. -
I think this guy is some kind of internet shotshell adman, he has another post similarly worded about him shooting a turkey at 50 yds with the same HEVIshot stuff...
-
I really don't think all these ultra power loads are really necessary? like hunting deer with a Win 300 magnum or whatever. My God 3.5 inch shells that knock the turkey and you senseless? I know guys that wont use anything over a 20 ga. and I have killed dozens of turks with regular 2 3/4 number 6 shot high brass loads, nothing fancy. And when your shooting at them at 50 yds you will probably be chewing lead at dinner time?

NY state has over 1 million acres of state forest and forest preserve with many tracts of land in the northern Catskills and Adirondacks going well over 100 thousand acres, much very under hunted. Get onto the NYS dec site and research their maps. It always amazes me how people say there's no place to hunt in NY state. I've had a hunter tell me last week there's no where to hunt and then found out he only lived 2 miles away from the Minnewaska State forest which is 10s of thousands of acres connecting to about another 50 thousand acres of state forest...

i dont even have to look at the stats anymore, i can see the differance just around town during hunting season and even in the woods, there are far less hunters and hardly any youngins out in the woods. -
Im a skinner, fast easy, no mess and can be done right in the field. i usually deep fry the breasts anyway and let the legs lay where i clean them..

Well here we are again with another 300 plus pages of the same old tire thing we have had dozens of times before, name calling, insults, what organizations are evil or truly righteous to the cause, who the true hunters really are, and then the landowners chime in with what their rights should be, and then come the ole reliable recurve and longbow guys telling their tales of yore. Its like watching the same parade year after year. Yea some of the faces have changed or not, but the argument stays exactly the same and keeps the chasm between hunters wider than ever. I know what i desire and to me thats personal and no matter what anyone on any forum has to say will sway that opinion, and on the same token I would never tell anyone else how they should hunt. This is not a team sport or one played in a court or park where people can watch and judge, our sport is an individuals sport, i'll go as far as to say a loners or recluses sport that is done alone, by yourself, you and your thoughts and the only one who can truly govern is that lone indivdual, no judges, no umpires, no refs or fans. This old argument will be decided by people who are alot bigger n more powerfull than us anyway. -
would love to see it? always liked Jim especially in the Grinch, one of my favorite Christmas movies.

I thought the crossbow section had a rule that stated something to the effect that "this is not the place to argue the legality of crossbows". Hey mods why dont we move this to the general chit chat section or just close this thread because these threads never ever accomplish anything, and go on and on forever and end up the same way each and every time. Whats this like the 6th crossbow marathon thread we have had in the last 3 years. Waste of time if you ask me. If you haven't noticed the argument for wether crossbows should be legal or not has moved way past the internet forums stage folks. -

Wow Grows, that is really innovative and those camo tarps are a great idea. At first i was thinking cardboard wont last that long but when wrapped in a tarp like that it will last a good long time.. -
It CAN Be Done....!

Thats only a tiny part of the affordable care act and by no means will it make Obama care go away. There are many good parts to Obama care, but there are very few good parts to the Safe Act...
