Why is it when someone disagrees with what corporate America tells us they are immediately labeled a Liberal? How did this contradiction between saving our environment and being a true blue I mean true red right wing American come about? It totally baffles me how a hunter or outdoorsman can be labeled a Liberal or tree hugger the second he or she says anything about preservation of our wilderness. How is it so many hunters today are just willing to throw caution to the wind when dealing with the scary idea of corporations telling us what is good for us and what is OK for our backyards when the very people who are telling us this don't even live in this state and many people involved with these corporations aren't even Americans? Have you gas drilling pros looked at exactly who and where the people who have huge vested interest in these companies are from?

I let two pretty good sized Jakes walk this morning. I was wondering what opinions on shooting jakes are amongst my fellow turkey hunting brethren her in NY?

One thing for sure, any high end pot growing operation in this state wouldn't last long. Heck I have at least 3 police forces right here in my little town and can't drive more than a mile without seeing two patrol cars any day of the week. Cant complain, NY has become one tough place for the bad guys to make a living. They can do much better in other states.

go to this site and read posts and threads daily to learn how NY's Andrew Cuomo will relieve you of all your firearms over time while you sleep. There are organized groups in our state that will stop nothing short of having you hunt with a peashooter. One thing about NY, anyone can move anywhere and be welcome, we may not dazzle you with a bunch of phony charm and at times we might seem outright cold but all in all I find NY a great place to live, work and play.....

Archery talk for me is just a freeforall, and I get a strong sense that a lot of the hunters from other parts of the country have a negative view of NY hunters or just NY'ers in general by comments I've heard on that site . Seems a lot of them see themselves as some super hunter whos ethics and ways of hunting just cant be questioned, especially by NY'ers. That's why I prefer this site, we are all kinda in the same boat here and a lot of us have had similar life experiences in the field and where we live. I haven't posted on AT much in the last couple years. To me staying local is best.

A meth head and a pot head are 2 totally different animals. And like I said a small pot plot is just some kids growing for their own use. A 2 acre field is someone who is selling. Is that good enough.

Not unless it was a sizable plot of several hundred square feet or more, but a small patch is just some punks experimenting to see what they can produce for their own use. Something me and my friends did as teenagers and we never hurt anyone. Now if it was a meth lab that would be an entirely different story..

It was several guys around hunting camp, my buddies dad was a big influence and then there was one guy who was a hero of sorts because of the comic relief he provided the camp. We had a couple of guys who when I look back now were also bad influences and one guy who used to come to camp and exemplified the word greed..But these were real people, and I'm glad I didn't have to look to the likes of Lee and Tiffany or some of these other Hollywood hunter loons to be my hunting heros.
