New Yorks educational system has gotten us 200 thousand dollar houses with 12K a year in property/school taxes. Tell me who the hell is gonna buy that? Banks no longer give credit approval on the value of the house but if the prospective buyer can afford the school tax bill or not? Alittle upside down if you ask me.

this is a big win for the employees of Remington and the town of Ilion and all the small businesses that make a living in that town feeding and clothing those employees, fixing those employees cars, selling them cars and whatever else. It boggles my mind how anyone would not wanna see a NY state manufacture like Remington get an 80 million dollar 10 year gov contract? If the NY safe act is overturned it will be in the courts and that will happen with Remington here or not, i prefer here for the hard working middle class people of that company...

Not a chance Ants, wont be sweatin nothin, I know my children are loved and well cared for and have received everything they ever needed and thats good enough, Im gonna have to leave all that worrying about every other baby born or not on this planet to someone else, just aint got that amount of love, maybe you do...What about taking care of babys after they're born, you know welfare mama by products which are being produced by the millions in this country with mothers who know damn well the system with your tax dollars will take care of her kids when they need 500 thousand dollar medical treatments or care for asthma at the age of 3 which will cost us about another 100K by the time the kid reaches 12? What about kids born into welfare with heart defects, should Obama care take care of them or lower the income requirements for people who cant afford health insurance so that kid can get the heart surgery and 100s of thousands of dollars in meds its gonna need for a lifetime. What about an illegal aliens kid who comes over here with leukemia and needs medical treatment at the age of say 6 months. whats the magic age when you stop caring and wanting to make sure every child in our country is cared for, or is it just till it pops its head out of the ole love canal then yer on yer own kid, go ahead and die now. Naa dont bother answering im pretty sure i know your answer, but maybe try and answer this one, at what point does the life of a baby, or child become not so precious where you can say,hey lady, you and your kid are on your own and if you dont have the cash for your little girls operation she just gonna have to croak, sorry.

A ground war with N korea would be a disaster for us. And nuking them would not sit well with China. There is little to no chance/correction "NO CHANCE" that N Korea could launch any type of attack on U.S. soil.And all this rubbish about Obama not having the stones to do anything is way off also, what would all you arm chair warriors have him do, start another war with N Korea now? and then turn around in your next mindless sentance and say ahhh he aint done nothin bout that 16 trillion dollar deficit hes a sadlin my grandchildren with? Yea i was saying that with the numbers the human race is reproducing at that the chances of getting that next super awesome person are better than ever. As far as China is concerned, i have to admit i am pretty happy that they did impose the one child per couple limit. Someone also mentioned (might have been you) that every child needs to be born and have the right to life until it wants to harm you then its OK for me to terminate that right to life? So to me that sounds like, yea you have the right to life but if say your a Muslim extremist who wants to terminate your life than its just fine and dandy to kill him. Kinda a very fuzzy line on how precious life really is, the Muslim thinks yours is worthless (because of religious reasons no doubt) and you think his is worthless if you cant convert him to your way of thinking. thats why the more and more i've looked at this whole thing and not being able to really figure who should be the deciding factor I just keep going back to the mother as the ultimate choice maker, and that choice has to be up to her and only her, not your choice, or your churches or definitely not the choice of some dirtbag politician whos probably screwing this country anyway and doing whatever he has to to get relected. Wow, imagine China without birth restrictions, our problems would be ten fold what they are now, and lets not forget all that precious life crossing our southern borders too...

I have to say that im proud to be a NY'er because we can actually have a conversation about this. I have been on other forums where this subject has come up and things turn ugly real fast, I mean people threatening to kill each other and stuff!

Why is it so important for one group or another to tell other people what they should love or how precious something in their life has to be. Shouldn't people who do not realize this already be left to decide whats best for them. I've heard the term every life is precious, well yea to me every life in my family, and in my circle of friends everylife is precious, and thats fact based on the care our children recieve and family they are surrounded by, it all just happens naturally and thats the way it should be, it never needed to be taught, never really needed the church to tell us it had to be that way. But im sorry i have a hard time getting all choked up about every baby born every second all around this vast world or even all around this huge country. Their are over 7 billion of us on this ball and this is a new record just broken about a year ago. And we are populating at an unstoppable rate that shows no signs of even slowing any time this next century. This precious form of life, the human race, should every single baby be born everywhere because as someone stated it might just turn out to be an amazing person one day or an upstanding citizen, or this person might find a cure to cancer or be the next Mike Jordan. I think with the numbers i just mentioned we have pretty much saturated the odds of getting the best of the best out of the human race. How many more people do we need to make to be certain we dont miss out on the next Michael Jordan. These are questions we should be asking that are probably as important as to wether a women should or should not have choice, or what the dads role should be in this thing or how it can be put up for adoption anyway.

We will not beat Cuomos safe act by vote or its perceived lack of popularity, it will have to be beatin in the halls of justice because the safe act is just illegal and unconstitutional. What the publics opinion on an issue is doesnt make it legal.

this data is not accurate, the value of lower NY state/LI NY has dropped significantly more than other areas of the state. You can now once again buy houses in many Nassau, Suffolk locations for under the 300k mark, these are the same homes people were unloading for 600, 700K a few years ago.And to me wether im paying more or less in taxes has more to do with if im happy where i am, and i can honestly say i love upstate NY nad wouldnt leave it for anyplace. I was born and lived all across Long Island (Queens to east Hampton)and moved and the family up here 10 years ago, best move i ever made and would never consider going back, i hate to even go down for a weekend to visit family anymore. I would pay double the taxes to live upstate...

same here in lower Ulster county this week, bout 20-30 birds stopped me from going tdown the road. Hop its a better season than last year.
