  1. Who is the tall dude with the skinny legs ??... Wish I could be with you guys tonite, but it didn't work out...Have a great time.. !!
  2. Those lips remind me of one of my old girlfriends....One of the REAL old ones....
  3. Nice fish.. You didn't mentioned that you hooked that tarpon in Miami and landed it in Cuba...
  4. You should have told him that the state planned to cut down all of the cottonwood trees and replace them with sycamores....
  5. I love all fishing....I can have a ball floating a #16 dry fly on a 6X tippet for 10" trout, and then the next day jig a 24 ounce diamond jig on a pool cue rod spooled with 80 lb. test in 300 feet of water for 100 pound halibut... A matter of using the right tool for the job...
  6. No doubt that when trolling for big fish, brute strength trumps finesse.....Hehehe...
  7. I fished 4 lb test for many years and did well with it...It fishes GREAT with the lighter jigs...However, you have to pay attention and re-tie often or you get breakoffs at the knot after a couple of good fish... I went to 6 lb a few years ago...Doesn't fish the light lures quite as well, but is much more forgiving and takes a beating...I seldom break off a fish with it, unless I do something stupid, like catching 8 or ten good bass with it without re-tying..
  8. I fish a light action 7 foot fast action rod with 6 lb. test and fish mostly 1/16 oz. jigs....However in deeper water with current, a 1/8 Oz. is often necessary... I do occasionally fish 1/4 oz. in deeper water, say 20-25 feet...I always fish the lightest jig I can get away with...
  9. Window seat for me...IMHO, a perfect flight is when I fall asleep right after boarding, and wake up when we taxi up to the gate at my destination... I have found that liberal application of alcohol helps me achieve my goal...
  10. Sounds like my kind of fishing, Jay....Except I'd probably fish my own hand tied hair jigs in the same weight and in black or SBB ( shit brindle brown)….. They worked pretty well up there when I fished with Lawdwaz a couple of years ago...
  11. Whatever works for you, My Friend Definitely an excellent chambering ...I kind of like different chamberings myself, like my 9.3 x 62.... The .325 fits nicely between a couple of other very popular calibers, the .300 Win mag and the .338 Win mag.. Any of the three will handle any big game on the North American continent...
  12. What color jigs are you using, Wolc ??
  13. Premium Economy is where they strap you to a wing in a navy surplus diver's suit with an oxygen mask that smells like Jennifer Lopez's crotch.... Premium Economy MINUS is where they do the same, except they leave out the diver's suit and give you a polyester speedo and a snorkel that smells like Rosie O'Donnel's gym shorts...
  14. All that work and still had enough energy to monkey around with the wife ?? You da MAN !!!....<<grin>>….
  15. The Sheepie King strikes again !!….Hehehe...
  16. Oh..By the way... CONGRATS on your draw my friend..!! I applied for about 20 years and never got a sniff...Finally gave up..... I know MANY people who have applied for the Maine tag, but don't know anyone personally that has ever drawn.... On the other hand, I know at least half a dozen who have drawn New Brunswick tags( including yours truly) ...One friend has drawn 3 tags in the last 20 years...Odds are not good there either, but for the appx $35 application fee, it's the one tag I still apply for each year..
  17. What Andrew means is that I ( being a veteran) called to register for the event, but they were full up already...We were hoping I could register and then I would fish with him...Thanks for the heads up, Andrew... At this point, I probably won't make the GTG, but am still a remote definite maybe...I have a friend in town I'll be entertaining, but who knows what might happen...He has a son in the Buffalo area, so who knows ?....In any case,I'll be there in spirit with you guys...Hate to miss Biz, along with the Long Legged Fishmonger and all the rest of you guys...
  18. I'd rather have the cow tag...A fat dry cow is great eating...But then, I have killed a couple of bull moose...If I hadn't I might be trying to swap too...Good luck whatever you do !!……..
  19. Actually, it could be the other way around..She is biologically old enough to be Nomad's mother... Wait a minute...Could Nomad be the illegitimate son of The Mermaid and me ?? The plot thickens !!
  20. Nope...I actually met her at a meeting of the Addison Saddle Club in the early 1960s... Watching her mount and dismount her horse in her skin tight jeans ( at age 16) was a religious experience... I wished I was her saddle... She and I went different ways after that and were each married to other people for many years, and both divorced... When we first started dating I nicknamed her the Mermaid, because I was feeding her so much fish I thought she might turn into one....I had to keep checking her tail for scales....
  21. I have a friend coming in Monday from NC who wants to fish...Since stream fishing is not an option for a few days, I plan to run up to Penn Yan and see if those big panfish are still around...
  22. What a cool idea..A food plot for ducks....They are more fun to hunt than deer, taste better, are so much easier to carry home, and the decoys are much lighter... I LOVE you, Man.....<<sigh>>….
  23. As long as it works for you, Partner, have at it...You are obviously a good shot and use the rifle/bullet combo within its limitations...
  24. My passion has always been wingshooting...Back when I first started hunting, it was common to flush 20-30 grouse in a day..Wild pheasants were still common, especially up on the lake plains... And then there was WATERFOWL !! A few times back years ago, the duck season opened the same time as bow season for deer.....I could never imagine how sitting in a treestand for deer could as much fun as shooting ducks and geese... Most of the wingshooting opportunities are gone now, at least in my area....I still kill 2 or 3 dozen squirrels each year, and a few bunny rabbits over my buddie's beagles.. It has been years since I shot a grouse or a woodcock.. As far as deer hunting goes, I wouldn't bother if I did not like the meat so well....I would rather hunt small game, birds, or go fishing... Turkey hunting has been a passion of mine for the last 45 years or so....Still, I am not as gung ho as I was a few years ago...I no longer have the legs to do the fall hunt, and have mostly blind hunted for spring birds the last ten years or so...
