I'm sure the Mama of the guy with the crossbow thinks he's special....So did Charles Manson's Mother. Also, perhaps he attended SPECIAL CLASS in school. I admit he looks kind of like a dork, but unfortunately, not everybody is as ruggedly handsome as Wooly and me....

If I'm not mistaken, Fast Eddie has one of those.. Of course, he's even older than I am...If you look up the word GEEZER in the dictionary, they have his PICTURE in there....<<grin>>....

Back before I moved into town, I used to hike 5 to 7 miles four or five days per week. When it was warm I generally wore shorts and a t-shirt I nearly always carried a slung centerfire rifle, either an M1 Garand or a K98K Mauser. I always went armed and preferred to carry a rifle rather than a handgun because I felt carrying a 10 pound rifle increased the workout. I wonder how many people saw me and thought that I was up to no good.?

I think about baseball...It helps me go the distance....

Just trying to help....<<SMILE>>....

Oh it's LUCKY alright, Moog... However, after I get home from hunting, it's getting sorta hard to take it off, roll it back up and get it back into that little foil package.. I guess that's the cost of practicing " safe hunting".....

I could lend you my lucky condom. It's been with me when I killed nearly all of my deer, turkeys, and other critters. Just try to be careful with it, because it's getting kinda fragile. I've been carrying it around in my wallet since 1966.....

I think Inspector Clouseau is lurking around this thread somewhere.... -

Around here chances are the name would be either Zook or Byler... Not too many BRANCHES on the Amish family tree....
-
Hard to identify them...They all look alike... Funny thing, when I was a mere wisp of a lad ( back when Moby Dick was a minnow) people used to make road trips to SE/SC Pennsylvania just to see the Amish farms, horses and buggies, etc. Now they're all over the place around here. Instead of urban sprawl, we suffer front AMISH sprawl...hehehehe.. They also seem to have a talent for building their houses right smack dab in the middle of the best hunting spots.. Several of my most productive (former) turkey roosts and deer watches now have Amish houses built on them.

They've made special guns for pimps for years. They call it the Weatherby MK V......... -

Ahh those uncanny Europeans.... Putting short barrels on rifles with big cartridges to shoot big hairy pigs ahead of hounds ! Isn't there a term.. BATTUE that applies to them...??.. You just can't trust those swarthy Germanic and Slavic types...< Pygmy shakes his head>..... -

I don't think you'll find a simi auto 30-06 in that weight range, but you might come closer to that weight with a pimp.. -
Paula....I have a pair of jockey shorts that say DAVID ALLEN COE..... I'd like to show them to you sometime.....<<SMILE>>.... " You don't have to call me Darlin' ......DARLIN' "..........

Gas operated autos for shotgun..I shot Rem1100s for many years....However I have not used a shotgun for deer since rifles became legal in my county, and last year I sold my rifled slug bbl to a member on this forum. No way I would ever use it again, unless required by law. I have always favored bolt actions for rifles. The two that I use the most for deer are a Rem M700 Mountain Rifle in 7MM08 and a Win M70 Lightweight in .280 Rem... It WOULD be cool to have a quality single shot like a Ruger #1 or one of the quality 1885 Winchester repros, but that will probably never happen. -
Good luck with your testing, Philo !

He'll be a dandy next year....<<grin>>.....

Congrats on your fisher, Stoney !! Beautiful animal..!!

The six round limit applies ONLY to semi autos.... There is no round limit for pumps, levers, or bolt actions...

Chances of the deer surviving a broadhead through a lung are very low..Chances are you killed him. The chances of you recovering him are somewhat better, but probably 50% would be optimistic, depending on circumstances ( like rain tonite).. Good luck....I truly hope you find him.
