Yup...She was a LuLu alright !! What the heck, fat girls need love too... At least that is what I have heard....<< whistleing>>.....
-
Yeah, we had girls around here like that... Trouble was, the ones we had around here all looked like Minnie Pearl or that fat girl ( can't remember her name)...

I have one from Nashville Tenn.. The number is BR-549... I think it belonged to some guy named Junior Samples..

Sounds like sweet rig....Even though I AM a blued steel and walnut type of guy...<<grin>>...

Yeah Chas...That is why I went with the .280 Rem over the .270 many years ago when I was buying my "one and only" big game rifle....Ha-Ha-Ha.... Silly ME !!.... I've added a bunch since then, but I must admit the .280 has served me well..I've used it to kill everything from woodchucks to Alaska bull moose at all ranges up to 400 yards. I reckon I made a pretty good choice.

Elmo...Sorry I am a little late.. A buddy of mine tried Osso Buco this year with venison hocks/shanks..He said it turned out very good...

Dang, Larry, you have a way with words ! I'm gonna see if The Mermaid wants to get her jammies on EARLY tonite......
-
I don't know, Larry.... I always thought the basket weave was a bit.......GAY......<< smirk>>....

It must have been love at first sight....... Nice score, Stubby....<<grin>>....

Given equal bullet weight, the 7mm08 is breathing right on the heels of the .270, velocity wise, and is burning 10 grains LESS powder doing it, with correspondingly less recoil and muzzle blast.
-
Yeah, Papa, and it knocks the CRAP outa those MICE, too !!! Sorry, couldn't resist that one...<<grin>>... Actually, the 7x57 and the 7mm08 are virtually ballistic twins with bullets up to 150 grains. The 7x57 has slight edge with 160 and 175 grain bullets because of longer case length.
-
Larry...There goes your memory ! I happen to recall at least ONE deer that you killed with the .260 Rem. You posted the picture on here..
-
Gotcha covered, Partner !...<<grin>>....

If you read back through the thread, Bowguy, you'll see that there are quite a few .300 mag fans on this forum.

I am very fond of JD but it is not technically a Bourbon because it is not made in Kentucky. Of the true bourbons I have tried, some are ok, some I was not crazy about. I really do enjoy some of the blends...Crown Royal comes to mind immediately but Black Velvet also ain't bad and it's cheaper. I am sipping at about half a finger of it in a dried beef glass as I type this. I prefer to sip straight up and chase with beer or water... Rocks would be a distant second, since I prefer not to dilute the spirit. I am not a mixed drink person, but I do enjoy an occasional Manhootie...

You dodged the bullet, Elmo. I was about to contact the "Crockpot Cops".

Pine Grove Lodge in Bingham, Maine... Excellent accomodations and great chow. You can take your own hounds or hunt with the pack of beagles that Bob Howe keeps at the lodge.
-
We have perhaps 2-3 inches here in Steuben along the Pennsyltucky border. JUST enough so that I am going WABBIT HUNTING tomorrow with one of my buddies and his two beagles....hehehehehehe .....

I have been buying tickets for Canadian friends.

Yeah, when I was a kid I used to watch " Peabody's Improbable History" on the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show while trimming my toenails with my Grandpa's WWI trench knife.

Davy's wife Betty was a helluva cook. He used to say " Honey, you should publish a cookbook".
