During my nightly cruise through Facebook at work I came across an ad that's advertising all sorts of ground work including ponds. The ad states he does 30ft long by 18ft wide and 5-8ft deep ponds for 10 grand. States his competition does that same size for upwards of 30k. Though I'm not sure I can take the ad seriously. Mostly because the person who wrote it can't spell very well and has no grammar skills what so ever. And he mentions that he calls in for equipment to be dropped off as rentals so he can do the work. So the guy probably isn't even legit with insurance or anything. But anyways....just figured I'd share since the guy had a price for a certain size listed.

2011 F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost here. 136kmi and climbing. All I've fixed is a wheel bearing at 120k and just did a o2 sensor the other week. I've beaten the balls off this truck since I bought it brand new. It's towed more than it ever should have and regularly hauls 2 to 3000 pounds of corn in the bed which is hard as hell on it but it handles it like a champ. Rust is the only problem with my truck. It's starting around the edges all over but I'm planning on getting all that fixed soon as I expect this truck to run for a lot more miles. Wife drives my truck mostly now since she puts on way less miles than me, and she loves when chevys and dodge guys try racing her at stop lights. She will text and call me all the time to tell me she smoked another Chevy 1500 who thought his truck had power haha. The Fords are great trucks. I've had everything except a tundra and I'd wouldn't buy anything but a Ford again. They aren't the number one selling truck series for just any ol reason. Once I pay off the commuter car (2014 Honda Civic) I picked up a month ago we plan on getting a new F250 or maybe even a 350. Now is a good time to buy too. Prices are lowered to move out the 2017 inventory to make room for 2018 models

I also have one on my muzzleloader. Great sling!! I hate when my gun won't stay in place on my shoulder as I walk but the claw works as advertised and is great at gripping your clothing to stay still. Put a lot of miles on last year and it's my new favorite sling for sure. And for the price, you really can't beat it. Give it a try grampy I bet you'll really like it -
At least we ran uptownredneck out of town [emoji1303]. Much less bs since he's been gone. This forum has a lot of traffic which is nice. Always going to have different opinions and threads get heated once and awhile. I usually just back out of those threads when they get silly. Not the end of the world. I just can't wait for the live from the stand 2017 thread. That's probably the best one we have yearly.

I'm not a cat person, but my wife is so of course we have to have 2 of them. The old one is fat and lazy and won't move fast enough to kill anything but the little one we got a couple years ago has been a little killer on the mice. He's up to over a dozen so far. He won't eat them, just kills it and plays with it. His acrobatic skills on the beams in my kitchen is cool to watch too

I Got Bit...ignorant dog owners are out there
Adkhunter1590 replied to greg54's topic in General Chit Chat
Glad your ok. That owner of the dogs is a total D-bag and doesn't deserve the right to own any more dogs. Hopefully that dog is put down immediately and the other one taken from her. I feel the same as others on here about dogs that bite people...put em down. I had to get rid of a beautiful male German Shepard pup 2 years ago because I couldn't trust him around my kids. It sucked having to get rid of him because he was the textbook definition of a German Shepard and had incredible size and features. That boy belonged in a police training program, not our house with kids. But we found him a nice new owner who could tend to the needs of an aggressive large breed dog like that. It was the responsible thing to do. I knew if I didn't give him up, at any moment I could be blowing a hole in him for biting one of my boys. Now we have a black lab mix thing. He's not very bright but he's docile. And come to find out, deathly afraid of loud noises. Lit off a pack of fire crackers and he took off for 10 hours. Thought he was a goner lol. But he doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is a good dog to have with kids around. -
Breaking ground what to use?
Adkhunter1590 replied to corydd7's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
TSC is probably the only type of chain store I've ever seen or heard of that will haggle prices with you. But the hours they open is something I don't understand. I went to our local TSC a few saturdays ago after getting off work in the morning only to stand at the door until 830 waiting to be let in. I stayed late at work to kill a little time since they don't open until 8 and at 758 I got out of my car and walked over the the doors to wait to get in so I could grab some chicken feed quick. Another guy walked up and we both waited and griped about having to wait together. We both agreed it was kinda dumb that a farm store opens at 8 to begin with, and that it's a common occurrence for them to not open the doors on time. But for having to wait the lady who let us in gave us both 25% off for the inconvenience. This is not something I could see Lowe's or Walmart or any other store for that matter doing. Yes TSC prices are kinda high on most stuff but they do make up for it in customer service I'll give them that. -
Breaking ground what to use?

That downward pressure will help a lot. If not just try stacking some weight on top of it and wait to disc after a little rain to loosen things up a bit. -
Never ending battles against those dang weeds. My couple of clover plots are fighting hard but I'm not sure how well it's gonna go for them. This one is a 2nd year WI Fusion plot. It's small enough that I took the weed whacker to it. Hopefully that helps it. Before After

Damn that's awesome man! That first one is a stud!

This year I've got additional land from the neighboring farmer. There was an old logging road going through it and we got permission to open it back up so now we have easy access to the whole thing. We did all that work a few weeks back and now this past weekend we got a few stands up and a couple others moved. Also moved some cameras around too.

First time food plots
Adkhunter1590 replied to land 1's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
2 years. I'm probably just going to turn this area into soybeans or corn next year with brassicas thrown in later. This year I'll spread a ton of wheat on it. I'll have a truck bed full of it lol. -
First time food plots
Adkhunter1590 replied to land 1's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
It's a tough year for food plotting with all this rain. Over half the clover I frost seeded drown at some point this spring and summer. The other half is fighting a intense battle against grasses. Surprisingly not a lot of broadleaf weeds but the grasses are insane. I can't seem to find clethodin anywhere local that's cheap so I've been mowing the plot to try and keep the grasses down. This is the last year I think I'll do clover, going to switch gears for next year and do summer and fall annual plantings instead. Buying more seed is cheaper than ordering enough chemical to control clover plots. Will probably turn the current clover plots into corn/soybean plots next summer. -
HA! Trust me, she will never hear the real good ones! Those I'll take to my grave, or maybe tell my boys when I'm old and don't give a damn anymore lol. So glad Facebook and cell phones didn't exist back then.

Ahh ok. I just saw your post and was like damn I know I've seen that before lol. That house is a total wreck. My buddy is stuck between two slobs on either side. The guy we are talking about just rented a small tractor with a backhoe and busted up my buddies fence yesterday. Gotta love neighbors like that... Anyways, garden looks good!

Brings back many memories haha. I stupidly tell my wife some stories once and awhile and she still isn't sure how I'm still alive or not incarcerated, I can't figure it out either.

You didn't happen to get this idea from the guy up the road from you did ya? On 9w up towards glenmont, across the street from the storage place that's just past that old comac gun shop there's a house there next to the dentist office and he uses that same planting method. Except his front yard is COVERED in the crap. My buddy lives next door to him and he's been creeping onto my buddies property more and more each year. The guy has tons of crap planted and we have no idea what any of it is. But he uses the laundry baskets, which he must have a few hundred of, buckets, tires and just all sorts of stuff.
-
Absolutely cut that wooden stand out of there. You've given the guy enough time. Cut it out and I'd tack a posted sign on the tree in case someone comes looking for it they will see the sign and really get the hint that you aren't playing around.

Ya I'm getting updates from stuff I've already seen and from many hours ago even the day before. They screwed something up. Hopefully a update comes through soon to fix it
