9 weeks dry (and still reading the beer and whiskey thread daily) but flaunting my first and truest love may be too much for me to bare! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone know what these are? Start of a dryad saddle??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Came good and moist and flavorful (BBQ dry rub). Skin is always too smoky but we don’t eat the skin anyway. Legs and thighs needed to be finished on direct heat mostly because I like them cooked to $hit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Venison osso bucco was my new fav find this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

“Beer” can chicken - cola instead of beer - offset charcoal heat (300) with hickory smoke. Taking longer than expected Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When will those in need of such a room feel embarrassed for the need for such a room? When will “normal” kids at those schools eventually say, “are you F’ing kidding me?” and just beat the snot out of those kids. It is really sad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was going to say Happy Birthday but didn’t want to inconvenience Bionic. Instead I will say, “never put lettuce on a taco!” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey hey Paula.....how long do the ramps stick around for? Hoping to grill some fresh ones NEXT weekend. Do I continue to let them grow(seems to be some animals nibbling them) or do I harvest this weekend and keep them in the fridge? I’m leaning towards leaving them for another week so they get a little fatter at the base. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am not questioning the effectiveness of vacuum sealing food over extended period of time. I just cannot imagine saving a piece of food for over a year (holy $hit-did you say FIVE?). How big are these freezes and how much can you actually enjoy the thing that I being frozen for that long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

3 YEARS?!? For someone who likes it so much and feeds so many how can it last three years? If I have any venison left by September I host a venison dinner for however many I can feed with what’s left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting thread. I have an old fridge just for the warm falls and doing what many have already described. I wrap my venison in freezer paper and have been happy with the result (vacuum sealer on next years Christmas list!). This year it seems that when I defrost any steaks or cutlets I have a ton of blood which I do not recall from previous seasons. Guess I didn’t hang it long enough?!? That’s a hell of a run for first time with a fly rod AND with flies you tied. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ha! You like my digging tool!!! That’s what happens when a game gets cancelled and I end up with 30 free minutes. It was either that, the ice scrapper, or a golf club! Did the job for this handful that are already swimming in soup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Grabbed some ramps today since he boys baseball game was rained out. Whipped up some potato/ramp soup and the Mrs threw in a baked Mac and cheese. Followed this recipe for the soup and used the stick blender to break down about half the diced potatoes. https://www.thespruceeats.com/potato-and-wild-leek-ramps-soup-3059779 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let them grow or pick em now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks like that skull is still attached to a spine and has a nasty front tooth the way it is sitting on the shed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From the antlers or meat thread , do you like venison
crappyice replied to rob-c's topic in Deer Hunting
I’m a big fan of venison partly because it’s a unique, “free” versatile meat that allows me another reason why all my time spent hunting is justified. “I need to go, Mrs Crappy. The boys love venison!” Never was a big steak fan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
