What have your deer been eating on recently? I'm thinking of mostly foods found in nature as opposed to plots or farmed fields? Where do your deer head when the wild apples and acorn dry up as an option?
-
Or, would you have the same opinion if Mr. Monsterhorn came by for a visit? Just kidding...elevated stands in high winds suck. I pick some real fat trees for windy days for my climber
-
I had a d-bag leave a cigar butt in a hole in a tree where the program in Westchetser put a ladder stand...pissed me off cause I didn't find it untill it started to get light. I kept smelling all my gear saying, "something stinks!WTF!" First light brought my answer.

Can't Beat the price or the turnover rate. Nice job

I have a black living in my neighbors tree. He runs my fence top every day and drives my dog crazy. There used to be a black squirrel around here with a "skunk patch" of white on its rump. Pretty cool looking

How to conceal your climbing stand once the leaves fall
crappyice replied to Lord of War's topic in Bow Hunting
I like the facing backwards approach but i also look for clusters of trees and finding one of them to climb. It limits my shooting lanes but I like the idea of not sticking out too much. -

I have had 4 good shooting opportunities in a management program in westchester - all on bucks I can't take till I harvest a doe. Figures! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

Could you imagine if we added THOSE GUYS into bow season with their CROSSBOWS...yikes! I'm only kidding- relax- call off the dogs!

Here's one I found on line...that looks a bit more like I would expect.

Crapping in the woods is part of my pre-game routine! I never have to worry about, "when's the urge going to hit when I am 20' up"

That's a good day, Predate- are those crab apples all over the place....nice! -
Oh Bother, as Charlie Brown would say- congrats

Just had a nice 6 point come through at 25 yards- perfect, except I need to "earn a buck" first in this management program- mother fudger!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

When I go to enter a new stand on the stand list, The pushpin is nowhere near where I actually am. Anyone else have issues with how the app marks their stands? I also tried the manual entry using coordinates from a handheld GPS - that didnt work either- posted me somewhere in Guam! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

I'm back in westchester this am with the stick and string(and some cams, sights, etc!!). Heavy damp feel to the woods today- hoping for a doe to cruise by before the heat wave kicks in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

A lot of time is my biggest obstacle being a westcheter resident and hunting 2 hours away. "Patterning" is an impossibility when I can scout a few times pre-season often weeks apart. I prefer to sit the am in spots that have produced in the past or show any early sign and use the 11-2:00 time to speed scout for the evening...not ideal but its the price for hunting far from home.
