  1. I just talked to my son about this. Neither one of us have a desire to shoot him, at least this year... The way he looked on July 5th, I thought he would have put on several more inches than what he did. Maybe next year! JULY 5, 2021
  2. First time the piebald has shown up hard horned. Didn't put on many inches since the last pics on July 5th...
  3. This is encouraging. Cell cam pics from the last couple of hours tonight. They're moving!
  4. Happy Birthday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just to be safe, I'd go for another Covid test. I know of a few people that thought they had it, but the test came back negative, only to test again 1-2 days later and have it be positive...
  6. Is the WW in a plot that you planted or ag field? I haven't seen much activity at all yet in the WW field next to my house. Beauty of a buck! I just had a new buck show up last night as well. Encouraging!
  7. On Tapatalk, mine are gone back until 9/30, but are all there before that.? Of course, they all show up on the computer. Is that about the time when the stupid badges started showing up?
  8. Slow morning. Few squirrels and a red fox so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Made it out for my first hunt of the year. Warm morning. Got a couple shooter bucks on trail cam (cell) last night, so they were moving! It would pain me to fill my buck tag so soon though! Don’t think there’s enough does in the area for me to want to shoot one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Happy Birthday Belo! Maybe you’ll have some extra birthday luck today! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Geez, I've been taking my meat there for years! UGH... I just checked out their Facebook page. Looks like they're just not accepting whole deer carcasses. Still accepting deboned meat for processing though. I always cleaned and deboned my own deer, before dropping the meat off to them for processing anyways.
  12. Is that what was in the mason jar you gave me?? Yum!
  13. OR, you could just HELP us get our shit together... !!
  14. Got wayyyy behind this year, but feel I'm getting my head above water finally. I have 4 stands and a blind 100% ready, but need to trim at 3 more stands. I don't intend on hunting much for ~2 weeks anyways. Cams aren't very active and so far any shooters have only been active at night. Might go out a couple of times, mainly for R&R and to get the bugs worked out for when it's "go time". Have the bow dialed in, camo all washed, and everything together. Thinking I'll be 100% ready by Sunday...

  16. Show-off! You better crank down the poundage on that thing!!
  17. Starting to catch up with my season prep a bit. Shooting out to 40 yards with the new broadheads, got all my things together, washed camo, and hung my boots outside. Still need to put up 2-3 more stands and trim around 5. Not too concerned if I don't have everything done by the opener. Cams aren't showing much activity and any shooters are only showing themselves at night still.
  18. Sounds like a great trip and experience!!
  19. Thanks! I figure if I get some pink camo, I can tuck myself in behind the flower pot! LOL
  20. Moved into my house last December and wanted to do something to attract deer and turkeys into the backyard to watch. I had no equipment to work the soil, so in the spring, I decided to just broadcast Whitetail Institute Fusion (Clover & Chicory) seed, hoping it would grow well enough. I did a soil test and broadcast fertilizer. I later ended up adding Whitetail Institute Edge (mix of clover, chicory, alfalfa, and several other seeds) for more variety for the critters. I mow it every 2 weeks, as high as my lawn tractor will cut (~4"), and it bounces right back with a vengeance! I've certainly gotten my moneys worth out of it already, considering I only have a couple bags of seed and a bag of fertilizer into it!! It's really exceeded my expectations as far as growth and the deer and turkeys love it too! I watched a doe feeding in it the other night and when she picked her head up, she had clover stems draping out of all sides of her mouth! I have turkeys that spend several hours every day out feeding in the clover, bugging, preening, and just lounging in the shade! There's 4-5 rabbits that we see as well! Really relaxing and enjoyable watching the critters! I also planted 4 late bearing apple trees along the edge of the yard and plan to add 6 or so late bearing crab apple trees next spring. #countrylife!!!
  21. That's great! Just the beginning too!! Hopefully this will be the first of many memories like this!
  22. Looks like you had an amazing experience! Congrats!!
