No Kidding?? Some years it's been hit or miss, but when it's a hit, it's very memorable. Then there's other years, when I hear guys talking about all the chasing going on and bucks going nuts, but it's so dead in my area I think there isn't a deer in the county!

I'm looking forward to the opener and just getting back out there again, but I have no intentions of shooting a buck much before the rut, unless it's a hell of a nice one! I would be sick if I didn't have a buck tag for the rut!! The rut is just so exciting to hunt, knowing anything can happen at any time! It's worth risking tag soup to me.

It's been an extremely busy and stressful year at work. I saw the phrase, "Inhale the Good Shit, Exhale the Bullshit" on a shirt while in New Orleans this summer. (OK, it also had a pic of a guy smoking a big fat joint on it too! ) Afterwards, I made this and used it as my computer background, as a reminder that it was just temporary and that hunting season was coming up! I'm ready to switch gears, get back into the stand, get some fresh air, and EXHALE THE BULLSHIT...

Looking into buying some decent rain gear. What I have is suppose to be "breathable", but it feels like I'm wearing a garbage bag and I sweat like a pig! I want rain gear that is lightweight, but doesn't rip easily. It doesn't need to be insulated, as I would wear it over my insulated layers anyways. I was looking into Frogg Toggs, but according to the reviews, it rips pretty easily. Suggestions welcome!

Took a long and much needed walk in the woods today. Does good for the soul and to clear the head! I had to move from standing under some oaks, because I was dodging falling acorns! LOL

Another vote for Zanfel! My wife had poison ivy pretty bad last summer. The doctor told her to get Zanfel and use as directed (~$36 at Walmart, over the counter). It worked great and it cleared up quickly! First-Light, if you lived closer I would give you a tube of Zanfel. I was at Safety Expo last summer and spoke to a Zanfel rep and gave her my card. They've randomly sent me ~8 tubes of it since then! I keep giving it away, because I don't get poison ivy myself. Ironically, I just received another tube of it this morning! LOL

I have 2 Coverts and both suck. Unreliable, missed photo's (tested), and night pics suck unless the critters are standing perfectly motionless! I put them in spots that I consider "high risk" for cam theft. So far, no takers!! I guess even cam thieves know of Coverts reputation...
