What are you asking?

I've been hunting 18 years with the bow an 16 with the gun....I have given a few haircuts and had some tough tracking jobs, but to my knowledge I am at 0 lost deer. I always give it my all when I shoot, espically when I think I may have missed.....but I am very selective in my shots. I have realized over the years that maybe I am more selective then most and that is why.... Although 18 years is a drop in the buck as far as time goes....I'm sure there will be one in the future.

Is this on tonight, 12/1?

I have rarely come across them in 18 years but its starting to pick up. Hence, I never really paid attention to the regs on them. Is there a bag limit on them or if a pack of 10 came by could you take em all out?

Hey, the deer didn't go to waste..his son tagged it, you've now got permission to hunt and your buddy shot a doe.although u would have liked the deer, you got much more out of it this way. As long as the deer didn't go to waste, this is the best thing that could have happened. He'll get a bigger buck now.

I forget where I read it but there was a story about deer barking. Just shows how much we need to learn!

I am a little superstitious. A buddy of my shot a pieball a few years back and and then went on a dry spell for a few years....he wasn't even seeing deer!! I saw a deer that was about 50% white, looked like it had a saddle on its back and had the gun up but decided to pass as the superstitions kicked in. Call it what you will but they scare me....

I used to put 5 in the slug gun but then realized it was alittle heavier and there was no need. Only once have I shot more then once and that was at a runnign deer when i was young....3 shots all missed cleanly. If i had to track after the first shot that would mean i had time to put more slugs in....Besides, I hunt with my old man and he is never far away, if i need more he has them.

Doc, weren't you in highschool during the "Great Depression".just kidding!! Lots has change over the years. I have only been hunting 18 years and soooo much has changed!!

I always take 3, 2 in the gun and 1 extra...if you don't get your deer after that.....?

I don't eat breakfast to begin with so its a cup of coffee for me and I bring a bottle of water. When I start getting hungry I have some water. I normally last till noon with that.

This is a little vague IMO. I mean its all opionion based...make sure you have the documentation to back this up. What constitutes annoying behavoir? If I were an anti ad I read this I would certianly make sure i did a few things to sway the arguement..if you ge my drift.

Ouch!! How much land you hunt. I'm sure I can cut time off your travel if you have some room for me! JK...how do u get there, 84 an the back roads?

TJ, where the hell are you on LI, 4 hours?? I live in dutchess and was just in Jericho. Got home in 1:30 leavin at 6Pm during the week...to 3f add 45 min to that...are you out east?

Talk about waiting until the last minute!!! I called DECALS for mine and got it in 2 weeks. My ole man went to the town clerck office to get his. You can get it anywhere in the state, doesn't have to be the county u hunt. Not sure where to go in NYC, did you try and google it?

Last year I tried 2 different ones. One was worthless, I forget which. But not sure if it was a coincidence or not, the second one brought in a 3 pointer the last day of the season within minutes!! And let me tekk u I made one hell of a racket getting to my tree and up it. All in my hunt lasted 10 min....luck or bomb, who the hells knows..

I get asked this question too often....well i have a new answer!! I met up with guy on Saturday who I met on the old forum. Neither one of us like to hunt alone....as it goes, we went out to one of his spots. All I can say is what a day it was!!! And I didn't even come close to having a shot at a deer!!! In 18 years of hunting I have seen a lot of things but I will be the first to admit that there is always more to see. I started off the day listening to a dog barking as soon as we got in stand. That was followed by yotes howling. After 20 min in the stand I heard a ruckus and saw what i thought was a turkey. Wouldn't you know it her come three black things...a mama bear and 2 cubs!! THAT WAS A FIRST FOR ME! About and hour and a few deer passed ( ar off) before I saw two yotes (in 18 years I have only seen 4 in the woods before this day). So I see a few more deer and then all of a sudden i hear something and look to my right. There is a Bobcat....Wow, I have never seen one of those!! Well, I saw Mama and 3 or 4 kittens...I lost track as I was trying to take pictures. THAT WAS ANOTHER FIRST! Wouldn't you know it, just after playing with the bobcats and right before I was about to climb down I see the chest of a deer! One step later, there are the horns 65 yards away and walking away from me! I threw everything but the kitchen sink at this deer and he just kept movin away and up the ridge....at that point it really didn't matter to me as I felt like I had just visited "Wild Kingdom"! That was a hunt that I will remember forever!! And I am sure that a very small percentage of people have shared the same experience......that IS WHY I HUNT..It was freakin AWESOME!!!
