Kids are the best...she found my grunt call and ran around the house for a week blasting away on it!! I thought it was hysterical but my wife was getting annoyed, so I gave her my "knight & hale pack rack" to play with and she makes an even bigger racket!!!

Great read!!! You must be a beast to hold that bow back for 9 mins.....damn!!
-
What kind of expandables, maybe that will help us out?

Bucks were moving this past weekend! Had a huge 6 and a wide 8 come into grunts.of the 7 deer I saw 4-5 were bucks on the move. This was in Dutchess County

Love it! My daughter is 2 and when I come home the first thing she asks me is "daddy have fun, get a deer"? Within the next minute she asks if she can go. I told her she could when she is 4. But we go "hunting" in the backyard when she is on the swings. I can wait to really get her out!!

Sorry to hear that, i hope all goes well. Is your Dr. a conservative type? just asking cause i have no idea what the surgery you went through does to you.....although when i was younger i had stitches on my chin and the Dr told me that I couldn't catch (i was a cather) for 8 weeks!! i would have missed the entire season if i listened to him...come to find out he was a Pri*ck and just concerned with the aftermath if people new that he stitched me up....a*hole. Not knowing anything about the surgery, before you had the surgery, you were hunting....i don;t think you are going to rip the stitches or staples by pulling back a bow or shooting a gun?? Sorry for my ignorance but i would just like too see you in the woods!!! Is there anything else you could do!

Went out Friday in the rain....saw 3 that I couldn't tell what they were, but had a huge 6 come right under me and hang out for a few mins (came in to a grunt). Went out this morning and saw 3. 1st one i couldn't tell what it was but its nose was down and it was movin....the 2nd was a buck that was outside the ears (only saw the back of him so can't tell you what he was).. the 3rd was a wide eight with small tines....but i was going to take him. He came running into a few grunts...saw him at 150yards out an could see the horns, came all the way in to 26 yards but offered no shot. The wind swirled and he was gone...son of a!!! But they are moving down south by me. Get out in the woods boys!!

Agreed! Crown takes the cake!! It might even be an attractant tomorrow morning as you sweat it out...haha!

Cause nothing else gets my heart pumpin like a deer in range!I always joke with co-workers that 1. I'm working on lowering their insurance premiums and 2. If armagedom happened tomorrow, I could feed my family....I think it is all just getting back to basics and what made us who we are as humans, today!

gonna have to watch it tonight and I will pay attention to it.

To me this is like one of the "Lethel Weapons" with Joe Pesche when he says" They F'U with the Cell Phones".....That is how I feel about Health Insurance....and my company has held our benefits since 2008. I would hate to think where I would be if that hadn't happened.

Land needed for an event
Paulie replied to Str8shooter_USA's topic in Land For Sale, Lease, and Requests
Rob, Can you tell us a little more about yourself and what you are doing? If I had land i would help!! However, maybe there is something else that we can do? A family member of mine is in a wheelchair and hunts, although I have never been hunting with him, i am interested to see what might be needed or where we may help...if there is something that I can do i would...just don;t know what that may be????? -
I have been hunting for 18 years and have probably taken 20. On avg, it is 1 a year. I think only 1 year I didn't take a deer and 3 years i have taken 2

Opener was a bust for me...saw a deer as I was zipping up my pants. She never saw me, I just couldn't get to my bow in time. My father on the other hand was successful at dropping a doe.....being the good son that i am, once he let me know over the radio, I went to help(5 more minutes was all i needed:)). he called me at 9:47 with deer down. I packed up and began to climb doen my tree in my climber. Once i touched the ground, I looked at my bow and said "maybe i should knock an arrow". Well, less then a minute later and after I didn;t knock an arrow, I hear "snap". I turn around and there was a big bodied 8 or 10 that just crested the hill 20 feet behind me....I saw him for all of 4 secnds as he took off, but it would have been my biggest buck to date. The curse words were flying as he ran off and i radioed my father. The deer ran 20 yards from him full boar and when i reached him all i saw was his jaw on the ground....Now I am not saying that if I were still in the stand that I would have shot this deer, but I would like to think that I am a good son and that i sacrificed myself to help my father...ahahah

I don't recall seeing anything here (but I know we have some law enforcement and ex-LE on this forum). I believe that every time an officer discharges their guns, that shot needs to be accounted for and lots of paper work filled out? Can anyone confirm? If that is the case I would think i would rather have someone else take care of it, wouldn't you if you were in there shoes. I think I remember another forum member saying in the past that he had put down several deer for officers over the years.......In any event, in this case i would have shot the deer to put it out of its misery. Seriously, shoot it, wait for it to expire and take your arrow. At that point it is just another unrrecoverd deer.....I think that the orignal poster said that they didn;t want to burn the tag due to the cost (again, I understand that everyone on this forum is in a different situation), but this day in age I wouldn't mind burning the tag.......but the arrow would hurt a little....$10 DMP vs. a $20ish something arrow.
