  1. This is getting ridiculous, i'm starting to get hunting ocd. I've checked my pack and gear like 50 times!
  2. I don't agree with this, since the Oct 1 opener I've seen a ton of big bucks in the early and late parts of daylight on there feet usually on the same routine the first few weeks. It really makes it easier for me because i only hunt a few hours a day and almost always see deer. I don't think anyone can argue with seeing most big bucks during early November though. I will mostly hunt urban areas during early October as i have pictures of deer pretty much all day behind my house by the creek. I can see my wife leave for work from my tree stand, 600 feet away!
  3. Chip shot at 18 yards today, from my roof with broad head.
  4. dang! this is why i encourage a lot of people to use lighted nocks. lets you really follow through on your shot and see the hit.
  5. dead is dead. first ones the hardest, congrats.
  6. perfect wind both sunday and monday for me. 2 different spots. Ill be after the big boys.
  7. My one neighbor told me he mixes corn, horse feed, molasses, maple syrup, bird feed and baits deer. Personally i think its funny because he said he never sees deer. Well despite your pile of bait the deer can still smell him awful. And all the deer seem to hang out a long ways away from his house across the road by my house, with no bait.
  8. yeah there tough out there, but my wife dad and I all got out 7s/7r again this year. Even if i don't get a 7p they don't hunt nearly as much as i do and ill be able to get my 2 extra tags.
  9. believe it or not this sometimes is the best time to kill the big boy, mine are pretty much always in the same areas in the afternoon around 530pm the last few days.
  10. a few years ago i stopped and was snapping photos of a white turkey because i couldn't believe my eyes, found out a few days later it was a domestic one!
  11. forgot my nephew turns 12 this sunday, HELLO more doe tags. Going to try a long shot on 7p.
  12. low temp hot melt on inserts, you can move them later.
  13. Got an extinguisher call to try some fawn bleats and contact grunts this year!
  14. 65 lb limbs maxed at 67lbs. Elite energy bow holding weight is something ridiculous like 8-10lbs.
  15. I shot 5 deer last year, I have a few shanks and probably 2 whole backstraps left, just ground 7lbs of stew meat to make jerky snacks for bow season.
  16. Just a heads up, if you need 600 spine Black Eagle had there traditional arrows with feathers for $28 a 6 pack on clearance, great deal there.
  17. i dont, but really want to try them, just cant justify another BH purchase with the way my current ones have performed.
  18. Wow I did not know that! I generally save that area for the special season and hunt my other areas first but if I fill my tags before that I will head up!
  19. Man i love working nights when the weather is like this. Just got approved for my 4 day weekends all November!
  20. Yes on the 2 tag part, the special season is all of January.
  21. My whole set up if purchased at retail would be well over $1500 dollars, between buying a used bow, cheap arrows from dicks that are there own special name and nap broadheads on rebate i come in around $550-$600. $5-$8 is perfectly reasonable to me for a bh. $15 is why the china sales are thriving and will continue to do so.
  22. i can already see my phone battery fading watching this thread. good think i have an external battery that will give me 2 full charges out there!
  23. yup, those are the years people kill monsters. stay at it.
  24. 2-5 arrows a day, broadheads only now. taking breaks between each arrow, sometimes holding the bow back for around a minute. Sometimes ill draw, hold back, let down, draw, then shoot.
