Had the scare of my life today setting stands...
Merlot replied to Hock3y24's topic in General Chit Chat
bought 2 screaming Eagle stands back in the 90's and they worked great, but after a while, I got to thinking I was totally dependent on the 2 cables supporting the fold down stand to support all my weight. I ditched the stands and went to ladder stands. Even so, I wear my safety gear while in stand. Nowadays, I am more likely to be on the ground hunting, rather than being in a ladder stand. Good hunting to you all. -
those are pretty expensive legs....I mean eggs...

Uh Oh: Biden has COVID !!

With heels up warming up in the bullpen, let's hope the dope survives. -
I read that the comic, Dave Chapple got booted from a sold out arena for not conforming with Woke Bullcrepe, but this guy gets a pass for spouting woke crepe on stage, plus the candidate for NY Gov gets attacked yesterday and the would be assailant walks out of police custody. Strange times, indeed.

Been shooting 10-12 a day since March. Not much, but enough. Got the itch.

Above ground pool... What am I getting myself into?

We had an above ground, 16 foot 4 feet deep. Family enjoyed the pool, but over time, our son lost interest and the wife didn't use it all that much. for me, a lot of upkeep for little use. Happy when the aluminum side blew out during the 18th winter. -
been looking for a small firepit like this. I have to have a screen over the fire to be legal where we live. Any recommendation on a good fire pit versus a not so good fire pit?

Remember when we had only 15 days before the shotgun opener, but I enjoyed the brief time to cram in some bow hunting, as the activity/movement picked up, then stride into the gun season. I have hunted a couple times early in October, but the warmth bothered me, plus you got to hustle to take care of the deer. Guys I hunt with drive to NC to deer hunt in that hot September weather. They get deer, but it's too hot for me. To each their own.

Imagine if Hillary won. This country would have been in one helluva mess, unable to recover. At least now we have a chance to get back to prominence with honest elections.

Would be nice if a couple of republican's would stand up and fight like some dems. At least Bobert and Margery Taylor Greene have some balls...

Given the regulatory axe driven through the heart of the oil companies, I would not risk trying to explore/ drill for more oil until sane people are back in control of the house and senate. At least that is a start. I guess there is "profit" with the cash the oil people have, but I'm sure a lot of that money would be plowed back into system to produce more of what we need. I just read about one of those "green" cars going up in smoke and flames, producing a 3000-degree fire that took hours and 30,000 gallons of water to put out. I'll stick to combustion engine for now and let the free enterprise system do its thing in sorting out our energy future. Government mandates on this energy stuff is B.S.

Unless people are frisked before entering, any chance you can wear baggier sized cargo pants/shorts, and load up on bags of peanuts, pretzels, etc, and avoid the heavy pricing? Back in the early 70's we guys used to go to the NBA Buffalo Braves games at the Aud and lined our inner coat pockets with bottles of beer...not too many, otherwise there would be too much "clanking" of bottles...jenny cream, I recall.

Story today is Biden's bike slipped on a banana peel today, causing the Biden bike crash...Hazmat team sent to clean up the depends offerings off the pavement... -
One would hope that the media would confront those pushing electric vehicles...government people pushing this stuff and put them on the spot. I am not against innovation, but rushing into this is not a good idea. We're not set up for all this.
-
missed that..thanks.

I like the innovation, but I would have chosen to do 2 semi-raised garden beds. More bang for the buck, I guess. What the hell...it works. good for him/her.

Searching for easy propane for his barbecue...

Just heard about this. Terrible. Of course, the gun/guns just got up and walked into that building and did the deed. Send Kamala..she will straighten things out.

The clown car people and Bidens puppet masters are doing a masterful job of wrecking our country. I think I'll circle back to Trump. -
Home schooling could be an answer for some families. Kids stay in their neighborhoods, learn and be relatively safe at the same time.
