    Wondered about what to do with the pool sand that protected the base of my pool liner. The space can be used for more garden space, but there is quite a bit of sand to move or get rid of. Any benefit to just roto tilling the sand into the soil? seems like it would keep the soil less compacted and promote veggie growth...just wondering.

    Property I hunt has been periodically thinned of mature hardwood. Maybe every 12 years or so. Tree forestry expert was hired to do the marking, laying out logging pull routes, soliciting bids and watching out for our interests before and after the harvest, including the repair of any damage/rutting of drag routes. Have had no complaints. Maybe this is what was done on the property you hunt?

    May not cure the drinking/hunting in the woods, but maybe charging a buck per can deposit will encourage a cleaner world. World is just plain crazy.

    Being a rookie gardener, I started 10 tomato plants in mid Feb...I think I started a little early. They're getting big. Will transplant them into larger containers.

    10-4 on the bathroom break, but maybe a highly skilled, severely background checked sky marshal to sit in the cockpit while a pilot takes a break.

    I seem to recall a heartwarming story, from a few days ago of a pilot of an Air Alaskan flight abandoning the cockpit to propose to his flight attendant girlfriend in the cabin. I suspect the FAA will not allow stuff like that to go on, given what may have happened on the flight that crashed into the Alps.

    All my wife thinks about is Florida and moving down there. I could not stand the heat and humidity. I 'd rather take my chances out west. Dry and no hurricanes.

    Man, that seems rather high. Imagine harder to move than shorter stands if you pick a poor location. I'd rather have 2- 12 foot ladder stands than 1 - 20 footer. JMHO.

    at least( I assume) your property,and whatever chores you do, is just out your back door. Club camp is 60 miles away and I don't feel like 120 round trip , plus the stuff to do at camp. Hope you're feeling better soon.

    Cool nickname. Not insulting to me. As mentioned in an earlier post, Native Americans coined the phrase "Redskins" , so I see no problem. Holland school was made to change from Raiders to Dutchmen? Someone better tell the Oakland Raiders and The Washington Redskins to get on the stick and institute some change here. Only 193 days left 'til deer season...

    ...and furthermore, down the road from where I live, Salamanca High School, situated within the bounds of the Cattaraugus Indian reservation, has "Warriors" as a nickname for their sports teams....haven't heard a peep about the nickname...Where's the outrage? where's the snooze coverage???I'm confused...Maybe Salamanca should just change the sports team nickname to the "Gamblers" in honor of the Casino just around the corner...just sayin'.

    Would have loved to see the school board stand up and tell the protestors to shove it, we're not changing a thing, and walk out of the auditorium. The world is on fire, the "JV" team is warming up in the bullpen and people worry about silly things. It's just a nickname. Oh yes, and there's ESPN covering Obamas NCAA picks. Unbelievable. OK..rant over...going back to bed...
