  1. I look at the mouth of every deer taken off my property and think I have aged them pretty well. But I take all factors in when trying to age the deer including body size, facial structure, teeth, foot size and history of other deer taken on my property that were aged by others (DEC/Butchers/Taxidermist). 3. That's awesome. I had my first experience with a bobcat this year on opening morning. Mama and 2 cubs. Amazing to watch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. "Are you insinuating that lawmakers are smart enough to make laws that make sense? Thats the silliest thing Ive read in this thread yet!" Well played sir, well played. Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I've read cougars will carry there kill up a tree and eat there. I'm saying that it is very possible that cougars live in ny and could live in NY. I don't think that cougars know what state they are in. Based off of studies on them they TRAVEL all the time, 50-100miles a day has been documented. Keep in mind, they are true predators. Think of any animal you have ever experienced in the woods, none of them like human contact. We are a threat. Avoid us at all costs. So you take a creature that is a better hunter than all of us combined. Probably smarter than any animal we have ever hunted and some expect there to be more pictures then there are based on people in the woods? Again I'm not saying there is a population in the state, simply that it is possible and I believe some sightings reported to be true. And just for $hits and giggles, It is illegal to shoot a Bigfoot or Sasquatch in Washington. Amazing law for a creature that doesn't exist...lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Domestic dogs and coyotes can Breed and have bred. It is documented, I won't be able to search the info now and post it but it is possible and has happened. I'll post later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. If DEC wants proof wouldn't a cat in the back of the truck do? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Mountain lions are one of the most elusive creatures in North America. If by some chance a cat is spotted, I doubt anyone would have a camera ready and pointing at it before it hauled cat a$$ out of there. Do I think there are resident cats? Not sure. I lean more towards yes based on what I hear from who I talk to. Maybe I'm being lied to but the people I'm speaking with have no reason to lie and I believe them. I'd love to get a picture of one on my trail camera but unless it's wearing a Yankee hat or has a current NY Post in its hand I doubt anyone would believe it was from NY. Here is a question, is it illegal to shoot a mountain lion in NY? I feel like I've heard it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Find the food and hunt it hard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The question is how many people did you see sweeping it up into bags or pales? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If your going to pass a 200" deer because it's piebald or albino, I'd like to buy that bridge you own in Brooklyn and that ocean front property in Arizona...lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Grow, I agree with you on the attitudes. I guess part of the reason why so many people don't believe or question is the alarming rate of false reports given each year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Pretty sure everyone said the same thing 2 years ago and then one was hit by a car and killed in NY. I don't see how anyone can say it's always BS, when in fact they used to live in NY and one was hit by a car in NY. If one mountain lion found his way to NY why couldn't another? The fact is if just 1 mountain lion traveled from North Dakota to New York that's enough for anyone to rationally think it is a possibility. Do I think there is one in a tree every 100Yds? No, but it's certainly possible for one to be seen in NY given the facts about how much they actually travel daily and a region that would fit there needs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Love if. Congrats enjoy the meat and antlers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I've seen a a chupacabra 3x, coincidentally all 3x were after drinking fireball whiskey....I think it has to do with the cinnamon being an attractant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Can't wait til next season. A lot of "holy $**ts" were yelled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Congrats brother. 1st one is the most influential! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Does anyone else think this fight should be fought by the hunter who harvested this deer....only if he's pissed? I saw this buck on fb too. It's huge. Big deer. Anytime any deer, especially one of this size, is taken the hunter is always asked where he shot it. Always.... Doesn't make sense to me to bring someone's site into an attack. There is a saying everyone is familiar with. "You can't fix stupid". Some people just press too much and ask the wrong question too many times. It's the commenters that create the problems. Not the host site. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. They do not take your hunting license at Ridge. They take your Drivers license or state issued ID. You must carry the hunting license in you at all times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hunting upstate NY for whitetails is one of if not the hardest areas in the country to hunt for big bucks. The deer you can basically walk up to and touch are 99% of the time in no hunting areas. As far as state parks holding more deer than other parks it may be true. I would say pick a spot, scout it out and go by trial and error. Just a heads up, to hunt most of the Suffolk county state land, you will need a Daily Access permit and daily access parking permit. Both are free to apply in person and $1.00 if you mail it. You will also most likely need to check in at the Ridge Hunter check station where you will get an actual pass to place on your car when you park. When you return the pass, you get your drivers license back. Where were you looking to hunt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I've seen the 5 legged deer before, same looking thing. The guy did a full body mount Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Where in Delaware county are you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Glad you noticed that. When he was taken, he only had 1 ear. I thought it was a unique characteristic which Is why I had him mounted. Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Just got the head back from the taxidermist on this monster I got last year. Typical 6x6 frame with Palmation on both sides. What do you think he would score? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Wait like button buck (furry nubs)? Did u get a chance to weigh him? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
