Soap and water. Sharpen then put some vaseline on them so the don't rust... or I mean slide through the deer better. -

I found o e of those on public land once. Just sits in my hunting box. Maybe I should try it. -
You are completely wrong with this. Just take your broadhead target out grab two arrows one shaving sharp and the other dull and you will see a huge difference. I have played with this just to prove the I am not wasting time with all the sharpening I do. My sharp arrows would go all the way through or the fletching would stop in the block where the dull broadhead would stop before the fletching even touched the block.

If you take a dull knife and push it through something like tight rubber bands the knife will cut some but will push some or roll some out of the way. If you take a shaving sharp knife and do the same it will cut way more rubber bands. The same goes for artery's and such. Trust me a sharp broadhead matters.

Maybe a coffee at the Mobil in the late morning? My treat! -
Things are going to change rapidly from here on out. As food sources come and go the deer will change there pattern. Then you will have pre rut and rut where all patterns go to hell. That's when you want to start hunting the tight spots.

I use a jewel stick on my current broadheads. My old ones I just used a bastard file.

So I shoot a reusable sharpen yourself broadhead. I just went through the ones I plan to use and sharpened them up. I decided see what the difference was between a non sharpened, sharpened and the a stroped broadhead. Now I am only using my binoculars flipped around as a microscope so it isn't a huge resolution but the difference is amazing. The none sharpened one has a really rough edge then as you go to the stroped one it almost looks like a mirror. It is amazing the difference just between the sharpened and the stroped broadhead. I wonder what the factory ones look like. Keepum sharp and shoot straight. Good luck out there.

Wish I needed this, its a good price! He is a good seller too. I bought stuff from him before and everything was like new! -
Dirt I was always told that they allow hunting there only because the deer hurt the vegetation. I know a big concern in the pine Bush is the karner blue butterfly and deer supposedly love those flowers. So I would think that keeping deer around is their last objective.

They got rid of all the trees. poplars, locusts, oaks maples etc. If the trees weren't in a wet land the cut most of them!! I saw some 20+ inch oaks stumps that they cut. Crazy stuff. They are the professionals though, they know what they are doing!!
-
They aren't selling it. The cuts have been gong on for a few years now. They are trying to bring it back to pine barrens that they use to be. They say it is better for the lands!! I know alot of people are unhappy about it. Even non hunters.

Unfortunately this is the first year my cucumbers didn't come in well. I do a lot of canning thought. I should have a banner crop of carrots tomatoes and butternut squash though.

i got to meet him in person at Denton hill. Great person and a wealth of knowledge.

I would think that it is a tuning issue with your arrows. What broadhead are you shooting? You might want to try a different brand in similar weight.

Live From The Woods 2019 Turkey Edition
biggamefish replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Turkey Hunting
Went out early and had to be out early due to family obligations. So about 730 I wrapped everything up and was out. When I heard a gobble close by. So I ran back in and set up quick. Made a few low calls and had one way off gobble back. I thought I must have spooked the close bird. Then the he sounded off and I knew I was in the game. About 1 minute later I saw a blue head come running down the field edge. He came into 20 yards and that's where he stopped. Happened super quick.- 989 replies

There are some good classifieds to buy handmade custom bows out there. You can pick up some high end bows pretty cheap. Tradgang.com is a good one. You have to pay to get in to the classifieds so it weeds out scammers.

I can say it makes a hell of a crack, you duck and then slowly look at the tip of your bow!!!!!! Luckily nothing happened when i did it to my bow. Beautiful bow good luck with it. I actually thought it was a stalker by the handle at first glance.

I have an old Ariens, it is an awesome machine it ate a brick one day and didn't even blow the shear pins!! just spit it out the shoot. It is an old model well built.

Looking for a birthday gift. My father got into a book with stories of the Rogers Rangers and seem to really enjoy it. His birthday is coming up and I am looking for more books with interesting local history in them. Same kinda theme not necessarily history books more like an adventure book with good history. Thanks in advance.
