  1. We are getting some differences on hunting hours, when it is getting dark, sunrise sunset etc. Now the only thing I can find in the dec website is sunrise to sunset for hunting hours. Which is fine, good enough but if you walk 45 min into the woods you are getting in/out way before light or after dark. I always thought you had a half hour before or after sunrise or sunset to get into the tree. If you can't hunt until sunrise or sunset we are all outlaws getting into our stands early in the morn before light. Way to break the law guys!!!
  2. 13B don't let one guy get to you. I would try to see if you couldn't trade it in the dmp trading section of this forum. You could always stop by the guys house and try to talk to him in person it is a lot harder for people to go back on their word face to face.
  3. Yeah I bet that was more of a lets see if we can hit the thing and a whoops after. To bad. It almost looks like a crossbow bolt. Not trying to stir any controversy just an observation.
  4. It is suppose to rain all day tomorrow. 90% chance last I heard.
  5. I Hang mine by the neck also. I always cut my own deer up and the the first thing I attack are the back legs. I tell you when you cut that second leg off it really hurts when that deer falls on your foot.
  6. Hey we are all law abiding citizens here. Nobody would shoot 3 seconds after sunset even if it was the 30 pointer!!!!!!!
  7. I put the three blade through the shoulder then into he back bone. With no scratch on it. You do get what you pay for. They are a 175 Gran woodsmen elite. Highly recommend them.
  8. I was listening to a guy talk about how he had a light on his bow so he could shoot later in the night. THought that was crazy was kinda crazy.
  9. Dont have to be worried about the cat. Cool to watch though. THey are pretty much loners but you might see two together not much more than that. I have never seen one in the wild so consider yourself lucky.
  10. Just amping up. The real rut hasn't started. Things are getting going though. Kinda like warm up laps at a race track. Driving by you might say they are racing but in reality they are not. By no means am I saying there isn't early breeding going on etc. But I don't think we have her high gear yet.
  11. Every body is different some have to learn by doing and some take advice. Makes the world to around.
  12. Gun hunting is totally different than bow hunting. At 60 yards who knows where the sent has gone and if it is even reaching the deer. Bow season at 12 to 20 yards I bet those deer smell it if the wind is right. If the wind is going the oposite direc tion then of coarse they wont smell it.
  13. Bow looks like it might be a martin Hatfield nice bows. Congrats to him. Love to see traditional.
  14. Don't lighted nocs take you out of pope and young? I thought I read that somewhere. Anyway thats not the issue here the issue here you deserve a congrats. Good job on getting it done.
  15. I go with my gut instinct. But your choice is a good way to do it to.
  16. When I did mine I did it on the computer and it had all of last years tags on there and I could have still reported them. That could be the reason. I thought it was kinda funny to see them al up there but you can go early deer and bear hunting in the northern zone if you have lst years tag i think.
  17. Wear a whistle around your neck. Could help you be found.
  18. I can say we are do for a heavy winter. Specially after last years easy one
  19. Bear made a lot of recurves and still are making great bows. They are great bows and very sought after with collectors. Some of the old bows bring big money. Hold on to it. They are a blast to shoot I only shoot traditional now. It is super fun.
  20. I have the summit open shot. Great stand. Use it all the time. Any climber you have to be careful in smooth barked trees. Just use common sense
