  1. Those rabbits are good eating and fun to hunt
  2. That last pic of the dog baying and the hawk is hilarious and so cool.
  3. I am looking to get this. I have the other Camo patterns but want something that will work anytime anywhere. I have heard good thing and bad thing about this camo. What are your thoughts behind it?
  4. Neck looks thick and stubby too. Not like a dog neck
  5. I would go with a bear also. The ears look like it you can just see the curve to the top of the ears.
  6. Time spent afield is a huge factor in the equation. But you could sit in the wrong spot all season and see nothing or deer that are just not close enough for the shot. So I think there is a little skill involved in picking the right spot.
  7. Here are a couple of sites that will help in tuning. http://bowsite.com/bowsite/features/practical_bowhunter/broadheadflight/index.html http://elitearrows.com/proper-arrow/ http://www.bowmaker.net/index2.htm
  8. Anybody have this camera? What do you think about it? It is thw W5ED
  9. Shooting them out of a martin vision on a XX75 2117 alum
  10. Got me some new broadheads this year. Went with a 175 grn 3 blade they shoot like a dream. Can't wait to try them out. (hopefully try them out). The two blades are back ups. They shoot great too.
  11. It sounds like you have dried blood which seems to be a glue. Don't know why if you can't loosen it up with the boiling water use a candle to heat the glue up at the end of the arrow and pull the insert out.
  12. You cannot do anything to the dog unless it is attacking you. I would call the dec and let them know there is a dog chasing things in the area. A couple of people got in some big trouble for dipatching a dog during hunting season saying it was chasing a deer when it wasn't, it was just messing up there stand buy running throught it. The dog turned out to be a champion rabbit dog and the guy payed through the nose after he shot it. We have to remember not every hunter in deer season is hunting deer. As for the odor of the dogs scaring the deer away I don't think that will be much of the issue. If they are chasing them around that is a different story.
  13. I play around with the 5 string banjo. it has such a cool sound.
  14. I switched to a FF string on my bow and went with a heavier head.(175grn). Had to paper tune the bow got that straight and now it is just partice practice.
  15. I like the ending part. THey make it sound like everybody is getting a new gun by ordering a tv. Gotta love that press
  16. Growalot makes a good point. I also do this when I grip the bow. I find if you just relax your thumb even take it right off the grip if you can you shoot better. I actually open up my hand so it i can't really torque the bow. This is what works for us. Form is important is shooting traditional but consistancy is more important.
  17. What are the grains of our tips. Like steve b said you can change that by adding more wieght. if you don't want to change you grn tip and broadheads you can by brass washers to add the wieght to the front.
  18. ANybody have one or have had one and what do they think about them?
  19. Starting to get ripe!! I already have 12 pints of blackberry Jam on the counter from two weeks ago. I love black berry's. I froze some so i can make Blackberry pancakes. yummy. I have a ton of grapes in my yard and I plan on making grape jam with them. You have to take the pits out but when you eat them off the vine man they are good.
  20. Not really just a normal setup. Wanted a little more weight in my arrow my old set up was around 540 grns all together. This is just a set up for deer. In the scheme of things my arrow really isn't that heavy compared to some of the people I shoot with.
  21. I got a dozen new 2117 arrows. Went with a heavier tip this year so I will be shooting 175 grain woodsmen elites 3 blade as my first choice and if I need to I will be using a 165 simmons tree shark two blade. I have been shooting the field points and they are grouping good. Looking forward to the opeing day now. Now it is just practice practice practice.
  22. Who cares make the decision your self. I know the first post was a general question. But really if you doubt a shot why would you take it. It should be shoot what you want when you want. Let him grow if you think he will live another year and you want the mount on your wall. If not take him down fill the freezer and still have a nice mount on the wall.
  23. If they are issuing the licences I would figure the rules and regs are set. right?
