I have the summit open shot. Great stand. Use it all the time. Any climber you have to be careful in smooth barked trees. Just use common sense

Sounds like you might have hit a small twig or something that deflected the arrow. They are hard to see sometimes. It is murphy's law when bowhunting. Good luck and keep your head up there is lots of time left.

GRC take care of that shoulder and you will be able to shoot a recurve with out a problem. I also shot a recurve for a long time 43lbs @ 29 5/8 inches. Killed many deer with it. JUst don't push it to fast or you will be back getting more surgery

If he has outer layers and just looking for mid layer to stay warm go to the salvation army or good will. They have all kinds of fleece and wool sweater heavy to light. I have picked up heavy wool sweater for 6 bucks. You can find camo there to just start dropping in to the stores.

Hey if your in the stand enough time of course you will see deer while smoking. Would I try my luck at smoking absolutly not. If you are playing the wind right and the deer comes up wind he wouldn't even smell it I guess. I have hunted alot of public land and I can tell you I can pick up a cigarette along ways away. I don't think deer say damn there is a guy smoking over there it would be more like man something is outa place here and they could be spooker or just not come in. Then again they are curious animals so who knows you might draw them in. You could always start smoking and see what happens.

Stayed in because of the rain. Not into trying to track a washing away blood trail. Hopfully this will stop so we all can get an afternoon hunt in.

What's the deer situation. I am headed up that way for the weekend. Hopefully the big boy runs into an arrow. All I have seen so far are doe. Still early yet though.

Hate when you double reply. Man talk about off the mark neck to the boiler room is a ways away. Could you tell which way the cut was on the neck? I shot a 6 pointer two years ago and it had two marks going across his back one above the boiler room and the other was across his but. These deer definitely get shot at. No wonder they go nocturnal. Lol

Sometimes you pay for a name and sometimes the cheap ones are junk. The only way to find out is try them out. If you make a good shot junk ones will work but if you make a marginal shot you could be wishing you went with a better broadhead. I used muzzy's for ever and they did well but this year I made a switch to woodsmen elites and I am glad I did. They are a solid metal broadhead and they are guaranteed that if anything happens to them under nornmal hunting that they would replace them. I thought alright whatever. Well I put the broadhead throught the shoulder of a doe and up into the spine of a doe and when I pulled them out there wasn't even a ding on the broadhead. I was amazed to say the least. THey were 35 with tax for three. I am sold on them.

I know a guy who owns a bow shop locally. He sells mineral block and other things along that line of illegal stuff to use. He says he never would use it but I find it hard to believe. Eveytime I talk to him he says he sees 20 plus deer when he is out in his 70 plus stands. The best part was I stopped in to hos shop and there were squirrels in the back of his truck eating things on the bed rail. Kinda strage I thought. I just have a hard time believing people who say I just put the blocks corn out for a little while then stop.

That second pic would be good but I don't understand why anybody would ever sit on a deer it makes such an awful pic. It really takes away from the pic.

Thats a good way to get shot. I heard someone close to me shooting then saw a guy pointing a gun at me that is asking for it in my book. I thought when I was young I was taught to never point a gun in another persons direction????

I went hunting with a friend this year and he had on a new sitka pattern. It looked great up close in the thick stuff but when he got out far he turned into a blue blob you could pick out with no problem. Probably just had the wrong colors for the background but that stuff is expensive so I don't know how you would buy it all for every background you are hunting in.

Come on bubba I know you have a good heart and are a great guy. I still have your ez loaders from last year. You have to take some of this with a grain of salt just like life. Don't let the little stuff get to ya. We will miss ya and good luck getting the monster.
