  1. I think ants is stuttering. Ha HA j/k
  2. I shot a 6 point buck two years ago and he had to cut marks across his back one perpendicular to his spine and the other almost parallel. Crazy what some of the deer go through.
  3. WNY good approach I always say "in good time". at some point it will be your turn.
  4. another thing, I wouldn't go with a two blade broadhead unless you were shooting low poundage under 45 pounds. I shoot 50lb and three blades pass through with a good shot. Bone can stop any arrow even at high poundage. I took alot of deer with a 43lb bow shooting 3 bladed broadheads. That extra blade can make the difference needed.
  5. I shoot only fixed broadheads. I have had problems with the mech. opening up and that was it for me. The thing you have to be worried about is plaining if you go with a wide two blade broadhead. Just have to tune your arrow to your bow it you have problems. That being said with your poundage and short distances you would have no problem shooting a three blade broadhead. Which I would recommend. You have more arterial cutting with a an extra blade. You should have no problem getting a pass through. Muzzy makes some real hard hitting broadheads which i use and love. This year I am changing it up to a cut on contact. Going with a simmons treeshark or a woodsmen elite.
  6. Same here it is an awesome feeling when you go to grab the card and it is gone. Some people are just scum.
  7. I used to live real close to malta 10 min now I am 20-30 min it is a great little community that is getting bigger quickly. From malta you can get into the adk is less than an hour and within a two hour drive you can hunt a ton of state land. plus be over to vermont where you can hunt moose if you pull a tag. If you have any specific questions about the area give me a PM and I will help you out.
  8. Here's what I don't get. If you have kids and want them hunting with you why wouldn't you take them every chance you had????????? I don't have kids but if I did I know I would want them to experience everything about the woods. Can you hunt all day maybe not but I bet it is a great experience teaching them and then maybe getting a good breakfest at a diner or IHOP. I don't understand why you even need a youth gun season. Take them bow hunting with you then when gun season starts take them gun hunting. I hunt with a good crew in the ADK's and one guy has three sons. They where all brought up the same way and all had the same opportunities to hunt. There father hunts every weekend he can and goes out of state to hunt sometimes. Out of his three sons only one took to it like him and hunts every chance he has. Out of the other two one hunts occasional and the other hardly ever. I only say this because I think all people are different. The sad thing is the society is moving to a point where if there isn't a special day for something people can't and don't do it. Kids don't get out and play enough (its a tech world)and we baby 90% of the society growing up. Just a rant I guess I just don't understand why people need a special day for something they should just want to share with someone so specail to them.
  9. I would definatly take the camera and leave a nice note saying that you have it and call them. Tell them a place where you can meet so you can see who it is and get a pic if possible. Then tell them that you don't let people hunt your land and they where tresspassing. From there you can give the camera back or tell them it is at the police or with the DEC. Sometimes it is better to be nice than mean. I say this because if he slipped in on your land once he/she can do it again and if he wants wreck your stuff or take it. If you were nice and he just made a mistake you might make a new friend out of it. I know there are the Aholes out there too but sometimes being nice is the way to go.
  10. Sacandaga River at the damn good trout fishing if there is water up there
  11. I was on here last year and a few of you guys gals have apps on your phone. What are some of them and there names so I can check them out.
  12. I bet they didn't even see the camera. It always amazes me at how much city people and people who don't regular the woods miss when they are walking around. I always say did you see that and their like 'What?"
  13. I always love the I won't use it during deer season. RIGHT no deer are coming in and you have used it all year and you are going to stop. UH HUH.

    Who would

I would also. I am a meat hunter those horns tast weird in soup. They are nice to look at but not the reason I am out there. I have to say 90% of hunting to me is the scouting seeing the fishers and racoons walk by, comrodery at hunting camp and stories.. Don't get me wrong seeing big bucks and having the opportunity at them is great but not the reason I am hunting.
  15. I read somewhere all the new reg and it didn't say anything about the youth hunt. I don't think it is it there for this year.
  16. My knife is like an appendage. I am carrying an 3 blade old timer. It is small but it gets the job done. I have actually cleaned a deer with a pocket knife before. Hate it when you forget the real hunting knife.
  17. Pick a bow and stick with it. I read somewhere that people don't stick with there bows for more than a couple years. Gotta have bigger and better. Don't know why. I would figure the first year would be spent getting everything set up right. Then shooting to be cofortable when the big boy walks by. Thats when you sell it. Crazy in my opinion. I know people that are killing deer with perfectly tuned bows twenty years old and they shoot awesome. Like someone said here shoot a few and see what feel comfortable shooting. You won't be just holding your bow when a deer etc walks by hopefully.
  18. Now I would let him walk for two more years at least he is way to little. Have some damn restrant would ya. Antler restrictions shout be at least 5 points on one side. HAHAHAHA
  19. Striker Bows. Look them up they have some really nice looking bows and i gues they shoot like a dream.
  20. I am retuning my bow right now got a new fast flight string and now bare shaft tunning it. It is fun right now we will see how it goes in a few weeks when I am frustrated.
  21. sET SOME GROUND RULES EARLY AND STICK TO THEM!! tHINGS WILL GO WELL THEN
  22. The other thing I don't like is the antler restrictions. I don't know about you but I would love to have a 16-17 inch spread spike horn. I saw one a few years back and it was awsome I just had no shot. I have seen pics on here before also. Guess we can't have everything.
