You never really now the age or the score of thte deer untill you have the antlers in your hand. It is just like the shot you say it was a good shot then you get there and it is a "that not where I thought I shot him." Take it as a nice deer or not a shooter. If you shoot then you can find out.

Abstracts are cool i deal with them all the time. If it was a personal thing I would think I would enjoy them a little more but when I deal with them i'm going back in time it is to find a property line dispute or such. It can be a pain sometimes but there is alot of history in those things.

The only good thing I can say is that fox don't like to be around coyotes. They will inhabit the same area but most of the time they will try to stay in different areas than each other. Like the other guys said a fox won't scare the deer away but a coyote would.

You could also try to video tape him coming out and futsing with the posted sign everytime you hunt. Most phones have cameras now or bring a digital camera. Proof so that if things go wrong after you talk you can use it in your favor. You could also move your stand a couple trees down to fool him he might have a certain spot that he can see you and if he sees you there out he comes might be as simple as moving your stand down a few feet and he might not be able to see you. Maybe he just want a venison steak for dinner offer some up.

Anybody can shoot a deer over food/ bait. The people that do are lazy and want deer the easiest way possible. I would think people that use bait are probably rather good at lieng also. I couldn't bring myself to tell anybody I even shot a deer like that. People are crazy.

I think the guys that get tickets might get mouthy or give a crappy look. I have had a ton of run in on the water with dec and on land and never had a problem. Treat them like you want to be treated and all is good.
