A new hunting bud congrats

Now if I red the column right upstate is saying take a big fat doe. Which if the father has a doe tag and signs it over it is legal right. I know where some of you are coming from the ones that abide by the law seem to get taken advantage of. We can't do anything about it right?

I have never had luck with any of the sents other than to cut hocks off of a real deer.

That is way cool. I know you want to sit in a great spot but maybe you want to try moving every 20 minutes or so kinda like a still hunt. I would make a game out of it so he doesn't get bored. See who can count the most squirrles and get the closest. Anyway just ideas good to see a young gun out there. Good luck

That is pretty light to some of the ones I hsve seen. Putting some thought into it the different areas I hunt have different shades of antlers. That being said I would think it has something to do with food and resources.

It can't hurt to ask a question. I don't think it would work I could see it hurting the deer population like Larry said. IF now I said IF it was state wide those who would still hunt and couldn't hunt doe in there area now would move into another area and those hunters that still want meat and only shoot bucks now start shooting does it could be very devistating to some areas. Now this is just guess but I don't think it would work. Do I have the answer no but we asking and making suggestions are the way to try to work things out. It will get what we want in the end. Maybe

I was under the impression that you can only have temp. treestands on state land they don't want you putting up perminate treestands. Ladderstand and hangons are ok for the season but you are suppose to take them down after the season ends.

So yesterday I had deer running past me I had this guy come in and give me a 17 yard shot. I double lunged him and his front shoulder stopped the arrow. He ran 100 yards and that is where I found him. Put in some hours for this guy makes it feel great. Can't wait for the fresh tenderloins

Yesterday was the day for me I saw three buck and one gave me a 17 yard shot Quatering away. Made a double lung and the only thing that stoped it was the front shoulder. He went 100 yards and that was it. Was a long night getting him out but well worth the long hours I have been putting in. This was the second day that I actually saw some deer. He turned out to be a 6 pointer he has a half point that just isn't long enough to count. He weighed 133 lbs dressed. Now I am going to start the cut up process.

I agree with you NY hunter. Those for ar's and are serious would love it but I bet it would be voted down I would vote it down. I think the trophy tv hunting everybody wants is ridicioulis(spelling wow).

It is an idea that is for sure. I think you would blow the deer ratio wayout though. I saw huge deer this weekend on state land with no ar's and I don't live out west.

I have lost many tags that way I put mine on my fanny pack and zip it inside if I walk through any brush.

Isn't that the second one this year. There was a news article on the other one in here. People are STUPID.

Wheelers don't always mess thing up I had them go right by my stand last year and 10 minutes later there are deer. I thought the same thing shit days over just putting my time in now but those deer always seem to amaze me.

If you think about it in the way of getting the town together and seeing everybody once a year. Having a good time with everyone not what a mess and this is going to take forever to clean up. It is a good thing I think one of those things that will be done away with and it will be ashame whne it happens. Man I sure am glad I don't live there though.

You will get a ton of different answers on this topic but I would go with. 30-30 or a 30-06. The 30-06 is the best all around rifle I think
