  1. Down 35% in last 12 months High was $52 and now about $32.....was as low as $23.
  2. A good discount on a hunting/fishing trip.
  3. Taken early animals and did the Jan. winter hunt and enjoyed them equally. I question how many treat their carcass and still think that influences much of what I have sampled.
  4. I guess like anything preparation and how it was butchered and such always plays into our opinions of what we think is best. I've taken several and they have always been way better than any corn fed whitetail I have ever had; but thats my take. Zebra would be my no 1 and depending who you are with, opinions would either rate it as bait or gourmet fare. Most Boer South Africans hate it, Namibian whites generally like it.
  5. Caribou and moose are right up there if you get a chance at some.
  6. That is a deal right there; someone should jump on this.
  7. Shortening boiling time is one factor that keeps syrup lighter. So if you increase concentration of sap, you by default reduce boiling time, and get lightest color for that run. Yes, you'd need a bigger pump increasing membrane size. Did you read Dr Tim's second post in that link? Covers exactly what you are asking about temp increase and prompt processing to avoid issues with color/flavor.
  8. If you put that through a RO, you'd boil less and you'd get better color.
  9. The two posts by Dr Tim Perkins touch a bit on this thread; maybe worth a look. (Dr Tim is THE dude in University of Vermont for science based syrup work) http://mapletrader.com/community/archive/index.php/t-20420.html
  10. Heating degree days are a bit more than last year at this point and my burning says the same.....about 5 cords firewood and a bunch of jobsite stuff (2x's, pallets, etc.) Primary heat with big ass woodstove.
  11. 22" last night and 16" from last week..... And never lost power! Miracle for me. LOL
  12. The name of the company is right in the title of that thread who did the aging; http://www.deerage.com/
  13. Suck.....now I'm in the 2ft+ range.
  14. Bullets are around 250gr +/- in general for loads @ 2150; so it can't be that bad. About my plinking load for 458 Win Mag. I see the idea in a modern sporting platform; but for a bolt action? If I wanted a short barrel bolt action I'd want a 458 B&M. Easy brass (cut off a 300RUM case) and lots of 458 bullet choices.
  15. 26,000 plus the 4,100 buyers premium (and tax) LOL http://www.icollector.com/High-quality-full-sidelock-double-rifle-by-M-Thys-Sons-of-Belgium-22LR-caliber-finely-engrav_i10487873
  16. For the love of God; please don't post anymore KFC unless you're living in a cardboard box under an MTA bridge somewhere..
  17. Frankly its not hard to hit that number in Lower Westchester around Scarsdale. A $3mil assessment would put that number into play. Location, location, location Now if one can afford 4-5K a month in taxes, the coin for the upkeep, and to buy it in the first place; one might make an argument your an idiot for not being prepared after Sandy rolled through there with that kind of asset.
  18. Has to be; maybe he tried using the free wifi......
  19. Holy chit....if I knew things were that bad I would have bought you dinner on my way back through Westchester coming from Rockland show. Seen a bunch of National Guard and line trucks headed your way; so hold out as long as you can.
  20. Show this around, #12 drops back at just the wrong time taking a trophy pic; ass over tea kettle. LOL If you see him say compliments of Rachel.....
  21. You know I have missed being in a hunting camp with him twice; last time in New Zealand by a couple days in 2015. Best wishes he beats cancer again, he's had a rough go of it.
  22. I bet he thinks he dodged a bullet when he found out they sold a shotgun to the shooter in Florida and he happened to not use it. But how much does the AR market account for profit margin; sales are down...... Interview;
  23. They had just come to town when I left Buffalo area; they are EVERYWHERE now when I visit.
  24. Stock is up close to 1% today.......couple gun makers Ruger/S&W are down. There was noise from them about dumping gun sales several years ago, not just AR in Dicks stores. Dick's store sold a shotgun to the Florida shooter last fall, and CEO is looking at damage control for future events.
