  1. Get the right water and you can keep on with the fly rod. 50% of the bass/pike fishing I do is with a fly rod, ironic I rarely fish for trout.
  2. Glad that over, needed to switch over to play SafariLive Bingo and win a trip
  3. Could be; https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1973-NETCRAFT-Fishing-Tackle-CATALOG-Toledo-Ohio-RODS-Reels-LURES/132470724614?hash=item1ed7ded806:g:NpgAAOSwdrhZnYsW I remember getting a Zebco rod at Twin Fair on Niagara Falls Blvd when they moved around the corner to where Tops is now on Maple. Grandmother worked in Sporting Goods and Toys there.....no one else did any hunt/fishing in my family but Uncles did and she knew what to get....maybe I was 7 or 8? Still have the Zebco Tackle box! Maybe 45 years now.
  4. With the "Janns"....that must be it. Wonder if there a copy of one on eBay?
  5. Could be? But I remember getting their color catalogs later and that doesn't seem like the same. I was about 10-12 years old when I first remember having my mom send in an order with Christmas money around that time. Cripes some kid that age now has his own Pay Pal account and more $$$ on credit than me!
  6. Help me out here.... This would be mid 70's like 76', 77' or so.....Paper b&w catalog, like newspaper type paper; tackle supplier; would have advertised in back of outdoor life probably. Guessing I sent in for a catalog request. All fishing tackle I'd paw through that thing til it was in tatters dreaming of buying stuff out of it. Wasn't the original Gander, Cabelas,Basspro. Started with a "J" maybe?
  7. Wonder what the deal is applying for a can and residency? If I was in a state where legal it would be the first thing I would buy. Shot several suppressed rifles and they are terrific; soak up recoil, reduce muzzle blast/noise.
  8. I was going to put it on MapleTrader.com; but tried a local hunt forum and here first, thought it was a good deal but surprised to find no interest yet. I do get to Buffalo area each year to see family, but have no plan to be there before this maple season at the moment.
  9. FWIW they have some close out items at the one in Wappingers and they are a good deal IMO by the SqFt. I did 2 insurance jobs and installed some material from there. Not in my usual wheelhouse as I lay unfinished solid hardwood all the time and first time I did some of this snap together floating stuff. Not horrible, thinking of doing an apartment I have with it this summer. Bought the better underlayment they had.
  10. Couple folks I mentioned this to had no clue in the last few weeks. I have to admit I totally forgot letter that came way back, and seeing this on another forum is what got me thinking about it a few months ago. If they have 66% up from what they had just a month ago that would surprise me.
  11. New version does. Won't if using old style magazine.
  12. If nothing else this thread was entertaining.
  13. Damn; I got to get me a invitation to a super bowl party.... These menus sound good.
  14. As replies show, I'm not the only one watching. LOL I have talked to another PH from this company, Jaco Strauss; he has experience in Mozambique and I was poking around for a hunt. We didn't connect, but Kwalata is a known company and there are reports all over the web of happy clients. Waterberg where they operate is a beautiful area to hunt in Limpopo. @Ryno, good luck with Harrisburg.
  15. I have to admit some of the best hunts I have done were booked through internet research and not so much meeting outfits face to face, although I have done that route also and its been enjoyable. Far cry from when I did stuff by phone and fax. I usually go to shows now to give a chunk of cash for down payment if the show is close enough. I haven't been to SCI show for years now; think of Harrisburg on steroids; but cost of attending the show pays for airfare on a trip.
  16. Pretty well organized....Archery; Outfitters, Guns/accessories, Boats all have own room for the most part. Fishing/ hunting accessories cover a couple more. Its big area to cover. I get there early and pre print admission ticket; but if you are there later in day you'll be able to walk in with out a line in general.
  17. Selling a steam table pan set up for someone looking for a hobby size. Good to sit on block or cut the side of a 275 oil tank for cheap arch. $75 in N. Dutchess 25"x 43"; 1/4" steel welded custom frame and 3 commercial grade pans. Will fit any standard full sized pan. 2@6",1@4" to finish in are included....
  18. Spent a week in Barcelona after a hunt..... Best food ever, terrific folks and places to see. Like to see Madrid someday. Jealous.
  19. I got a couple old brace and bits that I'll donate to his cause.
  20. FYI this bill doesn't make a moose season. It changes the law to allow DEC to set a season if they choose to and set dates and fees. Don't expect a moose burger anytime soon. It will never come up for vote in Assembly.
  21. Thats happened a few times for me too with all different kinds of cordless brands and some months I drive thousands of screws, drilling pilot holes. Operator error in my case.
  22. Folks had a place in Wells near Mikes Clam Shack; spent a little time there back a few years ago now.
  23. I seem to have accumulated more than a few Dewalt products over the years including 18 and 20 volt cordless..... No issues with them for me. I'd say add the impact driver for screws, keep the drill for holes and you'll beat it up less.
  24. TFF^^^^ I have the opposite problem, get some funds into my hunt fund and it burns a hole in my pocket.
  25. Seen that name come up as recommended many times with out ever seeing a complaint. I have several non blued guns; a rifle that has Ilaflon and is similar to the black ice ; several factory Nitride barrels, they are very durable and weather resistant and my favorite; a handgun in QPQ/Melonite; all three have good looking black finishes that are non glare. Also custom that has a coating very similar to Ceracoat that has logged some serious hard miles in rough, abrasive conditions. For the price could be the best buy IMO and you can get a choice of color if you want. I Duracoated a 870 myself and it came out great, better than expected. Nice because I can always just redo any future bumps and bruises.
