    I would love to snowbird it in Arizona. But in all honesty Alabama or Mississippi is probably going to be it for me. Florida is a definite hell no. Way over populated!

    I’m shooting Winchester ammo. My wife bought it for me for Father’s Day last year.

    I have euro mounts hanging above my wood burner at the cabin and never had an issue. Just wipe dust/ soot a little more than normal. But I guess it’s how much of a neat freak you are.

    I have a quarter mile drive at my cabin and the snow is very deep and only made it a quarter of the way in. So I grab my Remington 783 out of the back seat and start walking and catch some movement to my left on the other side of the gully. I make my way to a pine tree and wait for the deer to come up. 3 doe come up @ 20 yards and have no idea that i am there. Then a big wide fat 6 pt comes up I have him at 20 yards my god damn round misfires. 2nd time this has happened. I’m pissed I just bought the gun last year. I’m thinking it’s a firing pin problem. Anyone else own this gun and have a problem like this?

    Good job today boys and girls. I was just thinking has anyone seen or taken any bears this year? Seems pretty slow I terms of Bears this year! I was hoping the bear that has been frequenting my property would show up. Not to even harvest him I just want to watch him. Beats watching chipmunks.

    I seen 18 doe opening day and i didn’t get a doe permit this year for my area this year because I was too late to apply. But I usually don’t even fill mine during regular gun season. I always think the buck will be following.

    That’s such bullcrap. My land borders state land so I get not wanting people to cross the line. But I’ve had guys ask permission and I’ve even helped them drag and cut through to get to the road for easier passage (only for dragging). It’s just the sportsman’s thing to do. Why you would want a deer someone else killed is beyond me.

    What a great opening day I seen 3 bucks and 19 doe. No shot at the only buck I would’ve taken a shot at. Congratulations to all that connected today. For us that didn’t tomorrow is another day!

    Cabelas does not carry black powder either does buffalo gun center. Stupid nys has a law that says you have to have a climate controlled separate facility to store and sell gun powder. I live outside of buffalo and when I need it I go to Pennsylvania. Armondos I believe is the place. No place in the buffalo area sells it that I know of. But if you know of one please share.

    I was just thinking this. That went down as the worst opening day ever for me . I believe i dint see a breathing critter that day. I guess they all can’t be great. It’s more about sitting around with the guys a camp and laughing till you piss yourself...

    I haven’t shot a deer on opening day sine 2000 yeah that’s along time. I’m very selective I don’t shoot small bucks or does. Personal preference! I usually take a doe during muzzle loading season when the deer are back to somewhat normal. I’m hoping to whack a couple coyotes to be truthful. Those damn things seem to be ravaging the deer heard!     My uncle calls me about 530 and ask what I’m doing. Automatically I know what’s up so I ask him where are you and how big. He went out to a piece of property we have permission to hunt in Pendleton. I jumped at the chance to help because I’ve never had the pleasure to take my little guy out and track/drag. It’s definitely a memorable experience I loved it and so did he!
