The farmer may have the right to give people permission to hunt. It all depends if he has a lease and what it says. My lease with the farmer clearly states he is only leasing the agricultural rights.

I was driving down a road in the National Forest one day and seen a couple cars pulled over. So I slowed down, and there was a snapping turtle about that size in the road. So I stopped, this young tree hugger type lady was getting ready to just reach down and pick him up, I am like you know that is a snapping turtle and if you don't pick him up just right he might bite you and take your finger off.You could tell the turtle was not in a good mood and to be very careful before I made a move. Next thing I know the other vehicle had a older lady I am guessing 60-70 range opens the back of her Subaru and pulls out a ski pole.She tries to use the pole to push the turtle from his head and next thing you know the turtle jumped forward about a foot and about a foot off the ground and grabbed a hold of the ski pole. The look on those ladies faces was priceless at that point.The turtle was latched onto the ski pole and was dragged to the side of the road.

The farm land in most area's is going nuts. The farmer that farms my land said that the land is easly worth $10,000 a acres because is such good ground to farm on. There has to be some money in farming since every farmer I see seems to have brand new tractors that are huge compared to years ago.

You also want to look for and see if there are and deed restrictions on the property stating that only a certain size house can be built and so on.Also make sure you are getting development rights and agriculture rights.Sometimes when farm land is being sold the original farmer keep the developmental rights and only sell the agriculture rights Also check to see if there are any right of ways on the property.Also about mineral rights most people don know that NYS kept all the rights to Gold & Silver on every piece of property in NY. Also it is hard to find a bank willing to give a long on property vs a property with a house.

That is about $7400 a acre does not seem that bad for that area. I just looked up land in the Poconos and seen .50 lots from 10,000-25,000 dollars. I am not sure where this 136 acres is compared to these lots, but to some people in NJ/NYC area that money is chump change to them.

The Safe Act Ammo provision states that it covers COMMERCIAL TRANSACTIONS ONLY. It only effects licensed sellers of ammo.

How many minutes and texts and data do you really use? I got rid of Verizon and went to Page Plus. Its a prepaid service that runs on Verizon Towers. I have 3 Iphone's running and only pay $90 a month for all three phones, where I was paying almost $200 a month for Verizon. I get 1200 Talk Minutes (20 hours), 3000 Texts Messages, and 500 MB of Data.They do have other plans. I connect to wifi most of the time so never burn much data.

Zemmer I understand what you are saying that he does not care about the 1 or 2 box buyer. But if you buy a box or two and add send it too a FFL dealer you will be adding atleast $10.00 to transfer your purchase. He is the only dealer I have seen that came up with a idea that is legal to ship ammo right to your door.Why would you punish a dealer for that. I am pretty sure if you just buy a box or 2, the profit is not very much. Most other online places have just said screw you to NY customers.

This storm went just north of me when it crossed Seneca Lake, I seen parts of Seneca County in the Ovid/Interlaken area got hammered. I had a friend that had almost 3 foot of water in his basement. You could just see how high the water was in the ditches by all the grass knocked down, and all the debris on the roads. We are under watches for severe weather till Fri.

Well there is a dealer in Texas that will send ammo right to your house. See what the NY Safe Act states is commercial transactions of ammo must be made face to face.What this dealer has done is let you setup a local pickup option at his place of business, then you request a UPS or Fedex pickup and use your shipping address as the ship to and ship from person, so you are really just shipping the ammo to yourself. A lawyer over on NY Firearms said that was a brilliant work around the law.

THHuntNY, if you know where the bird was I would setup near there and sit and just listen. See if he gobbles on his own. If he does then you can adjust your setup. If possible get with in 100 yards or so. If I find a bird I will just sit and wait for awhile after getting settled. I will make a soft yelp, he he responds great, just sit tight. If he doesn't respond just sit time. They remember where they heard it. The bird I called in for my daughter Sunday for youth season, gobbled in the tree, he hit the ground, I made a soft call on my slate call he gobbles. He was about 100 yards away, I made one more soft call about 2 minutes later, and next thing I knew he was at 20 yards and coming, and with in seconds at 10 yards on top of my decoys, and my daughter connected at 10 yards with a 19lb bird 9 1/4 beard and 1 inch spurs.Some time silence is the best killer.
