The DEC just added a new rule in to the fishing handbook. So someone sees a picture you post online they want to give you a ticket. No luck this morning. Bird gobbled below my on the neighboring property today. Only thing I got this morning was a fricken deer tick. Thats the third one this year.

I think the decoys would have done it today, as the where standing and looking.I have the Avian X Decoys and they birds just love them.It was my fault, as the birds the last few days have been gobbling flying down then heading the other way.So today I planned on locating them, and try and get ahead of them, but ended up almost under them in the trees when if got light.I thinking about roosting them tonight and then form my plan for the morning. Yes, I hunt the National Forest all the time for turkeys. I am hunting some private land right now, but now, not very far from Finger Lakes National Forest.

You need to find out who owns the power line property first. As the power company may just have a easement on the property, so you may be trespassing by using the power lines to get to property that is land locked.

Well went out, and got alittle to close the my birds as I could see one 50 yards in a tree. They never made a sound, flew down about 40 yards, a hen started to cluck and they vanished. So I just sat and waited, about 10 minutes later I heard a gobble across the road. So I headed that way, stopped and made a call and then gully I am in just lit up with 2 gobblers 100 yards away. So I setup (no decoys was traveling light today) , I do some calling and these birds kept going off and came in to 50 yards, but did not close the distance. They just stayed out 50-70 yards, then another gobbler went off. So three gobblers, but none of them would come in close enough.Then finnally after 15-20 minutes just wandered away to property I can not hunt. I am sure if I had my decoys this morning it would have sealed the deal. So back tomorrow with decoys in hand, and hoping for better luck.

I tend to have 2-3 different layers on and do not want to put a hole in my hunting expensives jacket, so sometimes I just hook it to my belt loop, and then sometime I pin it through the hole in the zipper,

I have a Polaris Sportman 500 4x4, Kawsaki Bayou 300 4x4, and a Suzuki 500 4x4. I used them all. The Kawaski is under powered for really towing a wagon of firewood out. Now my Polaris and Suzuki will pull a full wagon load with no problems. I have noticed the Polaris will smoke the belt atlittle if the load it heavy, but my Manuel Shift Suzuki no problems at all. My friend has a Artic Cat 700 I think, and that machine is so wide it does not fit through my trails, that my other machines have no problems with.

Well only got to take my daughter out Sat morning. Had everything set up pefect. Had 2 birds fly right down to within 30 yards to the left of the decoys fanning no clear shot yet, and next thing I know one came in silent from the right up a gully, and was in my decoys at less then 10 yards fanning. Daughter tryed to swing he gun to the right, she is a lefty and bird busted her, she managed to get a shot, but did not connect. No Sunday hunt as she had a friends birthday sleep over Sat. So will try again this Sat for her.

I did not know where my trapping certificate was called Albany DEC and had a replacement one in about a week.

They can get so much cash (at ATM's)with a EBT card. I seen them use the cash back option to buy smokes. Also I think S.S Disabilty gets put on a EBT card, but could be wrong.

Belo, if you pull up to a school in todays world you would be causing a lock down, every LEO in the area storming or surrounding the school, and pretty sure you will make every news report in a 100 mile radius.

I have killed birds with and with out decoys. I have a pair of the Avian decoys once the birds see them its like you have them on a string pulling them in. They work awesome when I take my daughter out, as the birds just lock on the decoys and not whats around them. The bird she shot last year came in fast and was at around 9-10 yards from her when she shoot it. The gobbler never once even looked in out direction just focused on the two decoys.

The goverment and all these Anti-gun people just keep pushing that guns are evil. Just look at what has happened in the last 20-30 years about pushing the fear of guns on people. I remember having my guns in my truck in a gun rack in the back window. This was in the late 80's. Now if I had a gun in my truck just on school grounds, what would happen to me? These anti's are putting fear in their kids head, and making them afraid of guns.

Buckwheat in my on my property equals deer magnet. Only thing is it is planted late and harvest when 3/4 of the seeds are ready. So a field may still look green may be there today and harvested tomorrow. I have had this happen to my on a soybean field. I had deer all patterned (this was when bow opened on the Oct 15th), they where hitting this bean field hard every morning and night. Had a stand all setup. Went out opening morning to get to my stand the farmer harvested the beans on me the day before. Alot has to due with how much moisture content they farmers wants. The farmer that farms my land has a buyer for higher moisture corn, so I have seen them harvest the corn even when the stalks are green.

I can tell right now my daughter does not have much free time.As I am sure alot of youth hunters are in the same boat on time.Also alot of the youth hunters are doing the state tests.She gets up at 5:45 am and gets ready for school, gets on the bus at 6:50, does the school thing, then has practice for softball until 5:30-6:00 then gets home around 6:30 works on her homework and eats, goes to bed around 9:00pm. My daughter loves school and puts alot of effort into in she carries a 95-96 average for the school year and will be a freshman this fall.

Alot of native grapes and table grapes are being ripped out to plant different types of wine grapes.One problem with these newer type grapes is they can not handle the cold weather like we have seen the last couple of years and causes bud and vine damage. Back in the 1970's my dad was the largest grape grower in NY state farming almost 450 acres of grapes.He planted what the buyers like Tylor Wine Company. It took about 5 years to start and get any grapes off the vines, then when the grapes started to come in Tylor Wine cancelled their contracts, and that is when most of the NY Grape farmers went out of business. You also had the Xmas Massacre in 1980 when the Temp went from 40 degrees to -18 the next day and the vines just split. Its going to be interesting in a few years with all these brewery's opening and going to have use 70 percent or more of all there ingredients from NYS. Where are all the hops and grains going to come from.

Their mission is sensible control, you can take that for whats its worth. Yep, they have figured out they can't take your guns all at once with laws, so they the just chip away alittle at a time. The way things are going I can see in 50 years Americans will not be able to own guns, unless your are one of the special few.
