  1. And stop at The Central House ( I think that's the name ) for a grilled cheese Great food there. I roll thru there to hunt. Hey , we can utilize our "hulk technique " of field dressing rabbits without a knife !
  2. Claymores ! Seriously though. Opening day of gun, 2nd day of gun , thanksgiving , first day of ML ( to count automatic muzzleloader shots I hear ) and last day of ml. Hopefully my daughter can accompany me on as many as possible. Muzzleloader would be choice of weapon. Don't have a bow and regret and know what I'm missing. Hopefully this year I'll get one
  3. ethical has nothing to do with it. An inch or two off the mark will do it. I've lost 2 in my life. Basically broadside , standing , off rest , took time. Something went amok and don't know what. Both ethical shots I screwed up, ship happens. Feel crappy to this day on both. Assuming I hit inches too far forward. Tracked both forever and a little longer. Sucks that he wouldn't give rack ! Karma hopefully
  4. Got my sister into TWD. She makes awesome cakes and cookies. Thought I'd appreciate these. Nothing like walkers in ugly Christmas sweaters !
  5. That's the spirit. Who needs 10 ?!
  6. Ballz. I just saw that. Ouch! Sorry some DB did that which caused that.
  7. What happened is the obvious question?!
  8. do you think deer eat more now compared to summer to store fat or it's typically colder and need more food for energy to keep warm ?
  9. average temp of 7 in February didn't help either
  10. agree. Food creates energy. Energy keeps deer warm in cold temps. No need for them to be walking around during the day to go eat with as warm as its been. Most activity I had was coldest day we had. 22 degrees
  11. sadly I'd hit just as many. None. I absolutely suck at wing shooting. Clay birds are easy Ducks and crows not so much
  12. And what a waste of space in my gun safe to only have one. I'll join the 12 gauge people
  13. I'll be out there Monday with the smoke pole. All day sit in rain and winds. Still beats working. Killed 2 already with it during gun season. I post "milk" from my Iphone awhile back. Somehow it became "MILF". Hmmm, how'd my phone build that into it's memory I wonder
  14. Glad you and family are ok. Keep your chin up with your great attitude.
  15. Zagman on NY trappers forum created pipe set. He's been catching a lot of yotes with it. Trench sets are also deadly.
  16. Looks furred up pretty well. Ever try the hay set when we get snow ? It's a killer set. Caught 5 from same set years back before I pulled it. No trap bed needed. Sprinkle a good pile of hay to make a mound, set 2 traps in some loose hay and use scissors to cut small pieces of hay to lightly cover traps. Wiggly trap doesn't even matter. Place lure in two small holes and maybe a dash of urine on hay. Doesn't freeze ever. If this set isn't in your arsenal you need it. Look at Pipe set too.
  17. My next outing is Monday with the muzzle stuffer. 100 % chance of rain with 25 to 35 mph winds. Joy !!
  18. My daughter is 13 and I have been taking her turkey scouting since she could barely walk. Finally got her out during the season this year and killed a nice bird on Mother's Day with her there. Deer opener and thanksgiving. She has a Ruger 10/22 40th anniversary/ single shot Cricket .22 and a youth 20 gauge in the safe. She'll be ready in the spring after completing the hunter safety course.
  19. and a sheriffs card to drink ?
  20. 29 degrees ?!? It's 58 here in WNY. You posting from a walk in freezer ?
