  1. Sure looks like it. And a nice rack on it too
  2. Excellent prices !! I saw $5/50 box of Wildcats recently elsewhere.May have to check out the Tonawanda store soon.
  3. Gives me the rest of the day to refinance the house so I can afford the gouging and grabbing my ankles to buy some
  4. Batavia, West Seneca, Lancaster(and Alden but migrated to Lancaster) and Bowmansville all had bear sightings in same few days about a month ago. So 4 in all. Nuts how people get all worried. They were all small ones not Griz for Pete's sake
  5. What kind of hunting do you do? Because your introduction sounds more like a dating ad, lol. Just kidding. Welcome to the boards Lots of people with a lot of knowledge on here.
  6. Goodluck finding any .22 ammo to send down range at them. I'll pass on $5.00 per 50 box of Winny Wildcats.
  7. Lacrosse camo uninsulated rubber and Cabela's 800 lined camo rubber boots here. Depending on the weather I'll wear either. I've worn my 800's in single degree temps all day in my climber with a single pair of Smartwool socks with no problems. Keep in mind that if you are hiking in heavy lined boots your feet may sweat, then you're done . Sometimes it's better to pack in your sitting boots. I've had both pairs forever.
  8. Daughter spotted one today waaaaay up there in the air current. Moving along pretty quickly. Rte 77 and 20A Question on that intersection for whoever is familiar with it : On Rte 77 on either side of 20A approaching Stop signs are what I'd call rumble strips to let you know you're nearing Stop signs. 3 sets of them. During the winter they are really pronounced but spring/summer they are undetectable as I drive over them. Is this due to expanding and contracting during warm and cold ?
  9. Brother shot #65-68 chipmunks today. Little thieves are hitting his garden hard. Apparently the 410 is a great chipmunk gun.
  10. Pretty sure 220's can't be set on land. 160's can
  11. A few years ago I was zipping down the 90 and a big ole Tom flew out and he bounced off my windshield with feathers flying everywhere and turkey rolling up and over my roof. There was a NYS trooper behind me and promptly pulled me over. He issued me a ticket for flipping him the bird
  12. Laughed at the cow/Volkswagon Beetle Glad you prevailed in that one
  13. Zero....knock on wood. Waaaaay too many close calls though. I drive about an hour thru hills of 20A and Rte 77 to hunt deer and turkey. Had to stop 4x one morning this year on way to pursuit thunder chickens. Once I stood on the brakes. 2 years ago on deer opener I almost hit a monster bucks on the way there and on the way home. Nice shooter bucks. Keeping the hi beams on and head on a swivel has helped I guess. Hope my luck doesn't run out !
  14. Got a nuisance permit to remove dam and beavers from my brothers property. DEC approved it very quickly as it was messing up a great native trout stream breeding ground. Buddy happened to trap them out during season so permit wasn't actually needed. This was two winters ago and none have moved in.....yet. Ever try and take a beaver dam apart. Holy $hit it ain't easy !!!! BTW beaver pelts are not bringing all that great a $ during season. Muskrat and fox are where it's at.
  15. We have a pibald a couple of streets over. Very cool sight
  16. I see tools all the time in intersections. Usually wrenches of some sort. Do you know they get there? Mechanics working on engine and leaving them on the engine block, forget about them, shut hood, driver drives car, car makes turn at intersection, tool slides off and presto...Lawdwaz has new tools
  17. Great vids. Video 1 : surprised other birds didn't kick the crud out of downed bird. I tipped over a 2 year old opening day. Other 2 with him were oblivious to me running out to make sure he was expired and continued to spur him up even though I was within 15 yards of downed Tom. Video 2: Love the tilt of the fan of Tom at his lady. Very regal.
  18. Just a guess but 1955 and 1966
  19. Simple answer: NY is screwed up
  20. Thought DEC released this in Southern Tier
  21. Found this, hope it helps The first thing to understand when working to get rid of creeping charlie plant is that it, like most lawn weeds, thrive best in an unhealthy lawn. Be sure to use proper mowing, watering and fertilizing practices when caring for your lawn. While creeping charlie weed is considered a broadleaf weed, it is not affected by all broadleaf spectrum herbicides. The only weed killers that are successful at killing creeping charlie are weed killers that contain dicamba. Even dicamba is only successful if applied several times at the right time. In order to kill creeping charlie, you must apply dicamba based herbicide to your lawn in early fall when creeping charlie plant is growing most actively, which will leave it weakened enough so that it will have a difficult time surviving the winter. You can also apply in the late spring to early summer, but late spring to early summer applications will stall rather than eradicate creeping charlie in your lawn. Also, only apply dicamba herbicide 3 days after mowing and do not mow for 3 days after applying it. This will allow the creeping charlie to grow more leaves, which will cause it to take in more herbicide and then will allow time for the herbicide to work through the plant’s system. You can get rid of creeping charlie in flower beds by either hand pulling (after rain or watering works best) or with smothering techniques, either using several layers of newspaper or a thick application of mulch, or even moth together. After taking steps to control creeping charlie in your flower beds, keep a close eye out for it to reappear. Immediately remove any small creeping charlie plants that appear. While many sources recommend Borax to kill creeping charlie, understand that this method can also easily kill your other plants as well. Not only that but using Borax to get rid of creeping charlie does not often work. It is best to avoid using Borax for killing creeping charlie.
  22. Buddies fish there a lot. All flyrods with sucker spawn patterns and egg sack like flies. I have felt lined waders and love them. For some reason I thought some waterways ban them but i may be confused. Maybe look into that but don't think this is one of them. Bought my daughter some great polarized glasses at Gander Mtn for $15. Wally World should have similar. If you're using spinning combo I'd get some Berkley's power bait/eggs or such.
