I hope groups of healthcare workers file lawsuits against dumbasses who ignore the stay-at-home orders and mask rules and increase the spread of the virus to healthcare workers and others.

Definitely the pastors. At least the wildfire folks only endangered themselves with their stupidity- unless you count the first responders that they'll surely call when the fire is at their doorstep.

Wise choice to stay away from other people. But, you are wrong to assume that you are not a carrier. You have mentioned that you are watching your grandkids because your daughter is a nurse in a hospital. That means that she is obviously exposed, as are her children. That means that you are also potentially exposed. This is exactly the reason that people are being told to wear masks. By the time you show symptoms, you've been infected for days- and further spreading it.

People like you are the reason that healthcare workers get burnt out- no concern for others and defiantly proud of your thoughtlessness. But, we don't stay home because we need to help the innocent people who are unnecessarily infected by imbeciles.

Fine. But, it's not smart to disregard the message because you don't like the messenger. Cuomo's directive comes based on the advice of experts- not on a whim. The only reason that we're starting to see some positive trends in slowing this thing down is because most people are 'falling into lockstep'.

This is part of living in a civilized society. The whole point of wearing a mask is to protect others. Refusing to wear one is not an exercise of personal freedom as much as a blatant disregard for the wellbeing of others.

Maybe all of us healthcare folks should just stay home as well.

There are wood cleaners and brighteners that work really well, especially when combined with a pressure washer. I've always used those first, then wait a week or so before applying a tinted sealer.

Yes, healthcare workers are now being told that we can work even after testing positive- as long as they are not showing symptoms and are practicing proper social distancing, etc. The unsettling thing for those of us in healthcare is that the standards keep evolving based on availability of supplies and staff. And, by 'evolving', I mean decreasing. A month or so ago, we were required to self-quarantine for 14 days after a possible exposure. Now, we're told to come to work and wear a mask, even after testing positive. We've all been told that we should assume that we've been exposed already and that everyone around us has as well. Standards for using PPE have been reduced as supplies have dwindled- front line clinical staff are using the same N95 for a week at a time, storing them in paper bags in their lockers between shifts. And, we all go home to our kids at night, potentially exposing them as well.

Probably more related to newly available testing than anything else. The true measure is new hospitalizations, not new positives.
