    Agreed. I've never understood the need for extremists to thumb their nose at society in this manner. It doesn't help the cause. It only only antagonizes the opposition and turns the public against all gun owners.

    I've made them a few times- it's my favorite cut. The best way to cook them is to braise them long and slow. And, they're actually better reheated than right out of the oven. There are a lot of tendons in there. But, the long slow cooking process melts most of them down into collagen and makes the meat tasty and tender.

    Antipsychotic drugs are an imperfect science. Yet, there are millions of prescriptions written each year, with a relatively small number of patients committing violent acts. The AMA and the FDA as well as the entire pharmaceutical industry are constantly trying to come up with better meds.

    I agree with Meat Manager. We use steel shot for ducks. We use non- lead for fly fishing. We know it has damaging effects on the environment and wildlife. Denying that is silly. Moving in the direction of non-toxic ammo for hunting is a good way to promote hunters as conservationists.

    Based on your purported educational resume, you're surely familiar with the phrase 'correlation does not prove causation', right? How can you hinge your argument on the fact that mental illness was a factor in most of these cases, but deny that guns were involved in all of them? That's the kind of 'logic' that makes the general public think that gun rights advocates are looney tunes.

    The article is an opinion piece. The opinion is that the issue is not a gun issue. You agree with that opinion and then take that to mean that it is a fact. All of your posted articles are the same. You just don't know the difference between an opinion that you like, and an actual fact. I've never advocated for the confiscation of firearms- that's a fact. See the difference?

    Did you read your own article, aside from the ranking part? The study quoted stated that one of the primary issues with our system is the lack of consistent insurance coverage, a problem that it says is being addresses by the new ACA that so many of the members here are so fond of.

    Elmo, as Culver pointed out, the problems with our system are the costs, not the care. What countries' systems do you prefer to ours?

    This is a thread about the shooting that's been covered by Yahoo and the NYDN, right? So, what 'corrupt media' are we talking about that's avoiding the subject? For that matter, I personally haven't seen any stories exploiting the fact that a concealed carrier was killed the other day while trying to intervene in Nevada.

    Radicals and extremists are dangerous, no matter what their cause or political affiliation. But, careful assuming that they must be 'libs'. These threats and tactics are not a whole lot different from the ones used by the radical pro-lifers- and that's not exactly a 'lib' group.
