    I always have some snacks and juice. Apple, granola bar and sunflower seeds are usual with apple juice. When cold thermos of hot coffee.

    Excited for the morning for the youth hunt. Unfortunately we wont be hunting this spot. We would just get killed on the ground there.

    10/7 am 51 Down in the inner hole stand for a short sit of 1.5 hours. Had a wake to get to. Absolutely nothing again. I did pull the cam card on my way out and the scrape I doctored Sunday had 5 different bucks hit it in the last 5 days. I had 3 together in front of it right before end of legal last night, one a decent 8 point. The times and dates are all meesed up on this cam, it has water damage and I can't change the settings anymore.

    Man it was warm! I took the boy out quick to check a small spot with oaks but not a nut in site[emoji22] so much for that backup plan! Had him shoot his 20 gauge a couple more times. Dead nut so his confidence should be a-ok Saturday! May sneak out in the am and then it's supposed to be almost 80 tomorrow! Criminy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    The one con of trail cams lol. Sometimes it hurts less not to know!! I had what would of been the biggest buck I have ever seen in RL or shot at hit my stand one day in legal light two seasons ago. I was going to hunt that stand that morning but my Mom called needing help moving so I did. He never passed one of my stands in daylight again and never saw him again the next year. I can still see that pic lol!!

    It definetly is one of those that I think if any substantial effort to challenge it was undertaken it would be changed. If you are permitted to carry as protection I don't see where it would legally hold up where the DEC can take that right away from you. I mean they are pretty much wide open for a lawsuit if a hunter say gets attacked and gets hurt that has a CCP and is not carrying that otherwise would be. It should just be if a CCP holder is carrying that weapon can not in any way be used for hunting, only protection..... But then again when did a mojority of NY law make sense!! They tend to apply laws to make good citizens unlawful and fail to uphold the law on criminals with any backbone.

    Yes it is quite silly. My son was just too small in stature during 12-13 to pull enough weight on a bow. And myself personally want him to either get one with the gun or crossbow first since both are far easier to not make a mistake and bad shot on his first deer with. He can work up to the bow as I feel that is much more challenging after he gets a couple under his belt. Good luck to you guys Grizz!!

    I have seen many coyotes in the woods both walking and sitting on watch and never saw one that was not afraid of me. I have run into them in the dark as well and while on blood trails....again they bug out quick. Coyotes rarely run in large groups and the groups you do see is usually a parent and young offspring. Otherwise they are usually in singles or pairs.I have a female out back with some young ones still together. I heard them yesterday while in stand. The fire whistle went off and they all started yippin then i heard another out a ways, propably a lone male. Any attack would have to be from a sick(rabid) or injured animal otherwise they avoid you. And if one does attack me well he ain't winning that battle!

    10/5 am 51 Down in the outer hole stand this morning for 2 hours. Did not see a thing besides squirells. 5th sit and yet to see my first deer from the stand. Not a very good start!!
